im afraid i dont own a mac.

the one thing i havnt found and liked yet is the menu bar.

~ stardocks 1 slows my system, and is hard to make right,

and doesnt like all programs.

~ win2mac isnt panther and isnt v.functional

if u can make a good functioning taskbar, that doesnt hog resources and is functional, good luck! (Y) it definately has to be something my system lacks.

Nah.

He's on the money, if I had a dollar for everytime my system has been lagging to hell, and it's because for some reason objectbar is using 60-70% of my threads. Not when I'm mouse hovering over it, or clicking menus. It just periodiclly decides it wants to use all the free processing power available. I've finally given up on it and don't run it at all. The only time I have OB open is when I'm taking a SS.

Yeah I've given up on OB for the same reasons...If you can make a better finder resourse wise then good luck to you.

yes, I dont like object bar either

well i like ob but i agree it is slow. btw isn't this a thread asking for a screenie? not one is ob good? well i don't have panther but i do have a screenie of a rc of it but it was themed to be brushed. it is also big. if it will help you then just ask. i'm on dialup so i am not ready to upload it without a reason (it is 1920x1440. boy i wish my monitor could do that)

Why dont you just download OD and use one of thoes themes for refrence. There extremly accurate, and any changes they have are for the best (windows way of doing things)

I have OB, i have many themes installed... but i'm asking for real mac screen and comments from mac user... i think that we can get more of OB using windows api and writing an explorer shell replacement...

http://www.spymac.com/ gallery is great...

go for it...something like winmac but better would be great...don't let 'em pester you about it though!

@Pixelmatrix...

I know that site, i'm searching for finder menu bar and i can't find anything that can help me...

btw...

I'm coding the apple menu and i'm integrating an Atm...

than i'll code a shutdown/sleep/hibernate program for integrating in here...

4 my test, i'm using the rapsody blu theme of Crini OB theme... than i'll use a real panther gif trying to emulate panther perfecly...

However i'll try to code an all in one product (finder menu bar, atm, shutdown scripts, dock, exposè(not sure about last 2 thing), finder, syspreference.

When i'll have something to let u see i'll link some screen shot, now i have only a monk bar in center of my screen :)

#90673

Question.... do u want an option to use other program instead of integrating program (for atm/shutdown and other integrated thing)?

#90961

I think you should take it slowly. Get one app done first. And I mean getting it to the point you think is perfect then go on to do the second app.

I think it's okay to integrate it with the ATM and the Shutdown dialog because it's only logical to have them with the Finder bar. But not finder, dock, expose or system preferences. You don't need to code them anyway. There are people developing those apps already.

Good luck on the job. I hate OB and I'm eagerly waiting for this.

Look at this: Linkie Real shots, I used them when I was creating my panther theme for OB which I don't like but I got used to :(

If you manage to do it, we will love you  :naughty:

Maybe I'm off topic (and I'm not bragging or anything)

but OB was slow and lagging when using

themes with bitmaps as menu items (like they did 'in old days'to get mac symbols in menus),but I have no slowdowns whatsoever with my Ob ports cause I'm using OBfont (moded LucidaMac font with added mac symbols)

so I don't need bitmaps in menus and I still can create 1:1 OSX menus if I want...

OB is responsive as normal windows menus.

(PIII 1000MHz and 384Mb RAM)

Now I'm using it for everyday use with no

problems or any slowdowns. What you see in my screenshots

is my actual working desktop

Anyone ?

I'm here to agree with crni. Although OB often pisses me off when I'm creating a new theme or customizing something, thanks to OBFont it works smoothly and looks beautiful. I've never had any bitmap using theme running. Yuck. :D
