Sorry!

Sorry, Moby!!

:(

I had to give up using MD 0.87b & switch to ObjectDock because MobyDock was causing to much CPU usage.

It would sort of spike every few seconds from around 3% to around 12%. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling (which had worked before for a few days) - but didn't help this time.

The CPU spiking is enough to impact games and other software, so I had to let it go...at least until another version comes along - but I still prefer Moby's magnification and right-click features!

I've tried removing the "~" file. I don't have any docklets running.

Setup:

WinXP SP1 (with Pack's modded files, and snowE2's shell32)

Moby 0.87b

DirectX9.0b

Nvidia Geforce 440MX with 45.23 drivers

PIII 1.2GHz

512 MB SD133

Lots of HD space and I regulalry run Norton, System Mechanic, Reg cleaner etc.

Do you have WinFX or Yz Shadow running...something that's trying to creat a shadow on Mobydock? If so, exclude MobyDock from being shadowed.

I'm running very similar specs to you as far as memory, video card, etc (except I have a 1.8 G P4 CPU) and MobyDock uses 0 to 2% when it's idle on my machine and I'm running the mail and weather docklets.

Hey - thanks - I do use Yz Shadow....let me see if excluding Moby helps........

Nope :(

...but thanks for the suggestion. BTW, I couldn't find a way of excluding the Moby application, but there was no improvement when I shut Yzdown and restarted Moby.

Oh well......

Just for future reference, the way I find to exclude dock programs from Yz shadow is to open the dock config window, then drag the magnifying glass (or whatever that exclusion symbol is) onto the title bar for the config/prefs window...seems to work for Yz, Moby and OD. But since you shut the shadow down all together and it still didn't help, I guess that's not it.
