[beta Release] Objectsplash 2003

Hey guys,

Before I release a final version of object splash 2003 I need some beta testers.

Before you download it, just take note that this is a beta release. Dont mirror this or anything!! the beta is for testing purposes only. LET ME KNOW IF IT WORKS!

ObjectSplash 2003

A fading, customizable, KDE style splash screen

for Windows XP/2000 that loads at startup after the login

screen. With blinking customizable icons as the progress

bar.

...but i have some problems with others icons (multiple icons).

right now ObjectSplash does not support alpha blended Icons or PNGs.

You would have to convert it to a non-alpha blended icon >.<

I will try and see if i can get alpha-blended stuff to work in the next version

just a note: as enhanced said it doesn't support alpha yet. it also only does 72x72. i wish it did 128x128 so i wouldn't have to shrink my panther finder icon. btw for people who want to have it load at logon time and then start explorer create a batch (blahblahblah.bat) file with this text:

REM begin copying to batch file. this line is optional. the REM makes it not do anything.

@echo off

REM the @echo off is optional too but if it is taken away then if you choose to have the window visible you will see all commands that don't start with @.

c:\progra~1\objectsplash2003/objectsplash.exe

REM replace the above path with the one for objectsplash.

%windir%\explorer.exe

REM done copying

then make a shortcut to it and set it as your shell. if you don't want the window to be visible then set it to be minimised in the shortcut. btw enhanced gnome has a start screen like that too. also if you want i could make you an installer for it.

'Run-time error '713':

Class not registered.

You need the following file to be installed on your machine. MSSTDFMT.DLL.

Other than that it's fine.

1) Change the position of text and icons

2) Icons with alpha or PNG support ( in future version :( )

3) Support for 128x128 icons

Nice program...but it's hanging upon reaching the third message (second icon). The only thing I've changed is the messages and the font. I have to click it to made it go away. :canadian:

I have added that file in the zip :) normaly that file is included with Windows XP.

Download it again!

What are your settings? what Operating System are you using? did you download the latest build?

Hem works good here, except OBConfig, MSSTDFMT.DLL needed, i've try to past it into system32, system, c:\Windows etc...

The error remains :banging:
