Extreme Slow Down When Using Od1.0

when I run OD 1.0 my computer seems fine until I open up Autocad or photoshop both programs slow down to the point that adding an effect in photoshpo takes 20 minutes. IM using windows xp pro sp1 with 2.02 ghz processor and 798 mb ram with a 64mb nvidia gforce 3 card I think if anybody know how I can fix this or if anybody else is having the same problems let me know please

I've got a AMD 2200+ (1,8ghz) with 512mb, and Photoshop, Illustrator & Flash at the same time runs quite well, only difference between your system and mine is the Graphics Card I've go an 128mb Geforce 4 ti4200.

It seems to be a RAM problem, but you've got more than I do. Don't know about the speed of your RAM but mine is PC3200 @ 400mhz.

You could fix it by going to the OD properties:

Rightclick on the background>Dock Settings

then go to the "Performance Tweaks" and put instead of GDI + Engine on the bottom, Custom Engine. Don't know if it will affect the spead of other programs, but OD will run smoother.

thanks magm but the memory isn't whats running out my proccessor is maxing out when those other programs are running I'll try what you said when I get back home though thanks. And OD runs perfectly fine its just my other apps that are suffering.

I figured out what has been causing it the xml weather docklet is what has been killing my cpu. I took that off my dock and now everything is just about back to normal now there is only like a split second delay when adding effects in photoshop or working in autocad. This is really odd cause with OD running I have 567 mb of free ram but my cpu is at 75% when the docklet was running cpu was at 95%
