Additions To Aqua-soft

This topic is here to see what I should get done first, and what is actually wanted by the community.

Suggestions/Ideas much so welcomed.

i'm interested in seeing a files section.

but i'm also concerned about who would admin, and keep track of links/uploads.

i would hate to see AS go the way of othersites, and allow anon, or non author submiting of skins. the files section should be like deviantart , if you didn't make it, don't post it.

also, if there is a files section, we could cut back on posts, about new releases?

let the authors post file links in the "Files section" and stop posting in the forums.

File Section will not be open to guests, they will be able to see the file info and comments on the items, but no leeching.

File Section will not overtake the "Completed" forums either.

So far I see it setup like this :

There will be a forum for users to be able to post "their" work. It will get checked by whomever we choose for the job and it will get posted in the File Section.

Not just anything will be allowed there either. Mainly well-made skins, icon sets, aqua-like applications, and other files that help users customize their machines.

Ripping I know will be a problem so whoever that does take over the job of that section must know their stuff... ( maybe in the future we will ask for a member to take the job )

Damn - I can only vote for one huh, well did that already, but I would like to voice that the following would also be very helpful and a great addition (in no special order) -

Main Page - ( Just the mainpage updated with the new layout )

Gallery - ( Were you may "submit" images to be posted )

Files - ( Links to the "newest" & "hotest" customizing downloads )

New Forum Skin - ( A "complete" skin )

voted help/wiki, cause i think it won't get enough attention and will actually serve to clean up the site the most(ie. if thread is already answered, delete it and mod pm's poster about help/wiki.)

in order i would actually say:

1. mainpage.

2. help/wiki.

3. files.

4. gallery.

5. shoutbox.

Added the TwistedCpu skin, going to change the colors a bit, its too much on the dark side.

We need a decent and clean mainpage, shoutbox and a FAQ/wiki.

Files and gallery would slow down the site. We're here to help ourselves, not develop our narcissism in the gallery Desktop Pictures is enough (although it's closed now) <_<

IMHO, that skin looks terrible. at least 15 steps backward.

and quite frankly, i liked the layout of the old mainpage, but you can't stop progress.

with that other skin, i was wondering when the other tetris pieces were going to start falling. :lol:

looks kind of plain in my opinion... in a site that broadcasts that we want to make our computer not only more functional, but pretty as well, that is not the best looking billboard to get the message across.

whole point of the new skin is to be fast and efective, dont need an image heavy skin lol, I only installed it because I cant stand the other skins :/

Yeah files section.....

But seems like you guys wont put a files section on your server, why don't my I offer my current site as files section for aqua-soft. So whenever visitors click on files section at aqua-soft, it will go to my site, and whenever visitors click on forums section on my site, it will go to aqua-soft. I will do all the administrator for the files section though and you do all the administrator for forums. Its still two site instead of one but its link to each other. Currently I'm working on new site with a new name (secret) that would enable to upload files through browser. The downloads section will be nicely sorted so visitors will found their files easily. I will added more sections (not application only) to the sites mainly all aqua related files.

So thats my plan right now, what you think Timan?

How about a badge and colours for the regulars (may i suggest matrix green :lol: )?

how many times i`ve come here looking if pe7er, wizard, seph and others were online in the members online list and i had to read throught bunch of nicks untill i found them. if the regulars had their colour (like mods, admins, news and others hv) things would be much esier (yeah i know, another pointless request )

(ok wiz and seph (with his ferrets :lol: ) r now orange but that`s not the point )
