New Safari Clone: Excursion

NOTE TO ALL, THIS ISNT THE SAME AS JIB'S AND PIXELMATRIX'S PROJECT

Hey again guys,

As part of the other apps im working on over christmas, my safari clone, Excursion is the latest.

This shows the app as it is working now. Bookmarks have not yet been implemented correctly yet but History is working fine (with date recording).

Google search is working well (as you can see ) and the interface is looking pretty slick.

I dont really know how far this project will go. I saw Jib's and Pixelmatrix's and wondered why I'd never thought of doing it.

Id love to hear what you think about it, despite the fact its real early to say. :wub:

honestly, i'm not going to tell you not to pursue this, because i think that a better safari clone is necessary. that being said, i'll probably use whomever's prog is better/more powerful/more flexible/lower resource using between yours and the one by jib and pixelmatrix.

i just love :wub: how there are these little competitions between the developers from time to time. first, one developer comes out with a project, then another comes out with their version of the app. then come the releases. one dev releases a working app, and the other dev releases their version of the same app. :rolleyes:

if i remember correctly, i believe it was mobydock which came out first. then yzdock came out and, imo, blew mobydock out of the water. then came the releases, which were either the same week, or the week following the release of the other. then came objectdock, and the same sequence followed for some time.

i just think its all funny. anyway, looks like a great app alilm. wish i had the know how to program something like this, but alas, i am no programmer. i also wish development on this doesnt get abandoned like so many other apps ive seen. >. :blink:

I like the screenie. But I have to say - unfortunately - that screenies are all that you've released since I joined this community. OK, you have done that preview app. But I haven't heard anything about Mail for 3 months. Not ranting. It's just weird to see that you find something new to do and leave former projects unfinished and people with high hopes. >.

3 months? Try about 20 days. In the last few weeks, Ive released Preview and Font Book and a good deal about Mail, its not like I'm being inactive.

this is going to be interesting!!! Strange that me and alilm both came up with the idea to make a better safari clone around the same time!!! I cant belive this!! just amazes me. But I dont want this to be a competition where everyone gets edgy. Lets just see how it goes? Theres more then one dock program, each having their own certain features and stuff. So I guess the same can be for safari clones
