Os Not Found?

When I close my notebook, a dell inspiron 2600, it's supposed to hibernate, and when i open it back up, all of a sudden it says initializing mbr...os not found. Twenty minutes later...I open it up, and it goes back to its regular state...but then it goes on and off. It's been about two days since it all started...but right now it's fine, i'm on the computer right now actually, but I'm afraid it might happen again, what should I do?

Reformat could always be an option, but not encouraged unless you know what you are doing. Maybe if you have the System Restore going, it couldn't to try it.

Edit: Also Windows Update may have a fix or the Manufactures web-site may have updated drivers.

i don't know which one it is, but i do know there is a fix in windows update that has to do with problems coming out of sleep or hibernate mode (not sure which one it was for) i would say try that first.
