Aqua-Soft Forumsif there is anyone out there using Miranda IM, please help me. I can't seem to figure out how to see a person's away messege. If I right-click and view the user details if shows their profile but not their away message.

The away message usually is displayed when you try to talk to the person.

If they are anything like me. I tend to get bored and read peoples away messages becuase sometimes they're funny. Also, since I do alot of booking for bands people leave me messages in their away messages.

I've been using Mirander for a month and so far I like it.
i like to see the away msgs, like josh attack said, because i get bored and my friend's away mgms are ussually funny, and because some of my friends are mac users and for some reason iChat doesn't send the away msg when i talk to them.
i would try another IM program but i like miranda because i dont need to get skins for it, it just applies the style that windows is using so that i dont have to look for something to go along with my theme.
so yeah....
Hi menk, I think it is protocol based because for me it works with ICQ contacts by selecting someone and the clicking "read xxx message" (where xxx should be away, NA, ....) but for the ones using Messenger it doesn't show this option. Hope this helps.

It probably has something to do mainly with the fact that Miranda does not fully use the Oscar protocol. One of the main reasons you cant send files and such using the AIM network. I don't know about ICQ and all those other chat utilities.
yeah like darrell said, miranda uses the TOC protocol which doesnt support all the nick nacks. if you want to see someones away msg on aim, just message them.

they're working on the core (as you can see, the latest builds have had a lot of changes incorporated into them) to accommodate oscar.
so if were lucky we will be able to see away messages with out having to IM a person? hope so.
Actually, I hope they get file sends straightened out before away messages. I can't stand when I have to switch over to another IM client just to send files to someone.
