Folder Opening Action

Allright, so I was changing my file type icons in the folder options control panel, and I was trying to change my default folder and hard drive icons (which didnt work) and now folders all open in a new window, even though it is set to stay in one... How can i make it go back how it was?

edit: posted it wrong, sorry! >.<

Leibe-san, you have entered into the ninth circle of hell.

This thread might be useful for you, though.

May the force be with you.

What about...

Folder Options --> Browse Folders ---> Open each folder in the same window?

Probably already checked that but you can never be too sure.

i mean, i didnt format yet, i had formatted like a week or two ago for a different reason... i still wanna find a fix for this though.

maybe doing a repair installation would do it. would save a lot of hassle.

how you do this is....

start > control panel > folder options > File Types Tab > Select (NONE) Drive

Click on advanced and then press "New"

In the Action dialogue box you type Open

Application used to perform action enter the location of Explorer which should be C:\windows\explorer.exe

then ok it and then elect it in the Actions box and spress the set default button this will always open up a new drive window from the my computer window it's not the "best" solution there is but it's the best workaround I've found.

Of course you DON'T do this if the wndow already HAS an open then in that case highlight it and just hit the set default button.

I hope that's helped.

If you didn't already find this answer from the link found in the linked topic from ji eun

Yes, I can make them open like that, but they still only open in new windows.
