Changing Aim Tray Icon

does anybody know how to change the system tray icon for AIM?

I would like to know that too and also is there a AIM aqua icon, so I can replace the older plain AIM icon on my desktop.

I believe you have to open up the executable in Resource Hacker, change the icons in question, then replace the executable.

Since it's not a system file, just replace the file and fire up AIM.

I assume the icons are in the .exe because I use Gaim, but I believe most apps have the tray icons in either the .exe or a related DLL.

Aim would likely have it in the .exe

yeah I thought they would be in the .exe but there is only one icon set associated with it and it wasn't the tray icon set and I really have no idea what .dll's go with it

Alrighty I figured it out here it is for anybody else that wanted to know

using reshacker open AimRes.dll

then change the icon groups:

120 - online

121 - away

122 - offline

138 - new mail
