Aqua-Soft ForumsI downloaded Mobydock and could not get it to work to save my life. It kept giving me error messages. Is there a certain video card that I need to be using. I am using an older Savage 16 meg. I am going to upgrade it to at least 128 meg.

Yes.. and an AGP 16 Meg Video card.. I believe it is a Savage 4. I am conisdering getting a bigger one.. like a 128 Meg, but dont want to upgrade it if Moby Dock needs one larger than that.
i have a 64mb video card and it worked ok... so that shouldn't be the problem if you get a 128...
you can find the specs needed on moby's site. If you read moby bugs thread here(as), you'll find an assortment of cards that people have problems with. If your getting new and 128 you shouldn't have a problem.
I too have a Savage4 AGP vidio card with 16mb and I can't run it either, so there must be something about that card. I haven't checked to see if there is a driver update for that card to make it DirectX 9 compliant, but I plan to. Maybe that will solve the problem. Im currently using Objectbar and it's working just fine.
Strange. It should work.. well it worked on my TNT2 ultra (32mb).
If you dont want to spend a ton of money on a new video card and aren't a gamer, then the Geforce 4 MX 420 or 440 will do you. Mine works fine with Mobydock, but its onboard, so its performance is even worse than a Geforce 4 MX's should be. Im using the latest drivers. (52.xx) I think...
A savage card probaly isnt even DX7 complaint much less DX9. You cant make a card complaint with versions of direct X that it wasnt built for with just software, the point behind a graphics card is using hardware to generate the graphics instead of software on generic hardware.
Pick up an ati 9600 for like 100$
the savage4 cards are horrible.
