Is it true that LCD monitor has low resolution - therefore bad at playing games? (not as clear as CRT monitors)
or I need to buy a specific LCD specs for gaming purposes..
My monitor just acted weirdly and I might need to buy a new one

I find that my LCD monitor @ home isn't as gud as my CRT one so I have that hooked up to my other Pc that I don't play games on... (Y)
All depends on how much you willing to spend on one... cheap tft's are crap so see if you can see it in action before u buy.
I, for example, spent £900 (about $1200) on my LCD monitor, and I've had no problems with it.
it's not really a matter of resolution, LCD's have slower response times than CRT's.
So you see some ghosting when playing games or watching some dvds. Newer LCD's are coming out with some incredible response times, without breaking the bank. But, right now most LCD's can't beat CRT's.
My LCD is just fine for playing games. It's a 19" Samsung Syncmaster 191T. You can find 'em for as low as $600 now (I paid $800 when I got it).
The LCD that my parents bought is very nice, and it was cheap. Only like 400 something dollars last year. Ill admit its kinda small, but definately crisp, and clear resolution. It looks so good with a panther theme on it, it makes you want to reach in and touch it. The next time I buy a monitor it will be a flat panel display. Ill probably buy a Mac though lol.

one thing to be wary of though is mis-reported response times. a number of the manufacturers have realized how important their listed response time is to consumers and have been fudging the numbers. i definitely agree with the suggestion to see the monitor in use for yourself before buying and obviously read up on the reviews and user opinions for whatever monitors your are looking at.
i personally would reccomend visiting tomshardware.com and looking over some of their reviews of lcd monitors if you decide to go that route. they're very reliable and have done a number of reviews on this very topic recently (within the last 2 months or so). good luck!

dark colors run together, making things indistinguishable at times >.< ,but then again, its the monitor that came with my computer
I have a 24" flat panel monitor and I am an avid gamer. Gaming is awesome on my monitor. Ultimately, you get what you pay for regardless of whether it's CRT, LCD or plasma.
get a good LCD at least <25ms then you should be ok. I have a 16ms and 20ms one and I am loving it.
For me , an Apple LCD or nohing
I have a ViewSonic E70fb crt 17" black and it's fantastic (viewsonic rock)
but LCD , i look at some but compared to Apple's LCD no one got it.
and yeah LCD says Liquid Crystal Display, and liquid is not fast as light

you can get flatscreens that use the same apple panel. then you don't get that horrible apple design(sorry, i just really don't like the way they've cased it.)
Organic's mostly just thinner(no backlight), with a better viewing angle. not necessarily higher res. its a few years off before it gets the same resolution/rt anyways.

also, from what i've seen, its mostly just used right now in small design forms, like cellphones.

Personnaly i'll enjoy most having 3 Viewsonic PF 17'' Crt for 215$can each
To a total of 650$can 
Better than having only one not so fast LCD Display for aprox 400-800$can
For a "good" LCD, and only ONE at this price !!! :cry:

Forget about brand names, most companies buy their panels from a handful of manufacturers. Bottom line, check the pixel count and response times.
A minimun 0f 17ms for gaming, and of course the higher the pixel count the better.
im using a vaio 19" monitor crt for gaming.. is kicking ass.. i love it... ive used sony's flat pannel.... its pretty good... but i dont know.. i like my big crt... eh...
i recomend you a good lcd sony whit the dvi conector, that is the one that i use for games of all kinds and is perfect!! sony is very good especially if is dvi conector
