Yes, I'm going through (another) japanese stage. Series 2 is a mix of S1V9-13's grand, bright colours and S1V1-8's easy on the eyes, smooth texture. The result should please people who disliked the bandings of S1V9-13 but liked the colours or disliked the duller colours of S1V1-8. This is indeed a preview and only one size (I made this one slightly different to decrease the amount of fading at the edges); All S2 sets will include a zip and more sizes. Er and for the people who see the thread title as boxes; Install far-east language support for your OS. Come on even my 4GB HD can manage it! Edit: Uh.. I don't know why the title was cut short.. It's should be named 壁紙抽象美術シーリーズ2, if any kind moderator would try changing it back to it's full title..? Thanks.

Uh.. XMAS?;

Ah, honestly I got rather annoyed and decided that fourteen (or a total of 77 wallpapers) is alot for one series of wallpapers. So I thought I'd seperate it into a "new" series of wallpapers. I actually completed around half of the XMAS wallpapers.. Maybe I'll include them as a special gift some time..

More..?!;

Expect S2 volumes to have ten wallpapers (in 3 or 4 sizes), so alot more!

When?;

I'm having a break from wallpapers.. Plus I need to focus on work more.. Expect S2V1 uhh around January 20th. I think I deserve a break.

The Preview and Promotional Images Have Grey BGs!;

Get over to a better internet browser. One that can handle proper PNGs. I've seen the light! I've switched to Mozilla! (Firebird didn't run well for me)

Seriously speaking, I really LOVE this set you're developing! Based on the preview... it looks really good. I love the mellow colours... and the soft blending effects it has.

Will all the walls in this set be of that theme? If so, then THAT WOULD BE GREAT! (Y)

Yes S2 will be much more mellow.. If I get enough time I'd like to include three variations of each size & wallpaper; Dark, Mellow (default), Bright.

I'm already having second thoughts though.. Alot of people will probubly presume the Japanese is just "wannabe-ness" when I really want to encorperate it into my design (as how I changed my signature and title to fit with it).

@es.xxi: My idea is this... it's a design process on your part after all. People might presume it's a japanese 'wanabe' on your part, but if that's what you really want to do, then go ahead and do it. It's your art, it's your design after all, es.xxi.

I like your abstract wallz (though 77 of them?!?!?). Anyway Raiden's right, throwing kanji into the corner is as appropriate as throwing English or Thai into the corner there. In what way does it add to the aesthetic of the wall? I don't see the point. Plus it gets half-covered by the dock anyway.

Not 77 anymore because the XMAS Volume (25 wallpapers) isn't going to be released (but there will be what I've done so far zipped as a christmas pressie for you lot).

I think it's to really seperate from the first series. Remember this is only a preview, I've got lots of ideas tinkering around in my head to make each volume unique. For the "throwing kanji" on comment; I bottom left seemed the most sensible area. Most people here use top-edge taskbars/objectbars (the reason why most S1 wallpapers had copyrights at the top, so it's hidden). If I placed it in the middle it would be very distracting to the actual wall and lessen the impact. A corner is easily noticed but doesn't obstruct viewing the whole wallpaper.

And if your dock covers it you need to either get rid of some shortcuts or make it smaller..

Anyway Raiden is bitter because he had to figure out where WinFX was from. Your bitter! Aren't you Am? Bitter!

@es.xxi: Instead of putting the kanji in a box format at the bottom left, how about putting it on the right instead? And in a vertical roll, just like the way one would expect asian characters to be hung at the posts or by the doors. Hmm... did I manage to make myself clear enough? Let me know if you need me to re-iterate what I said!

And another thought, making the kanji fit into the way a seal imprint would look like... how about that?
