Ipod Question

Yo just a little question about the iPod 10gb 3rd generation.

I'd love to have a 10gb iPod but there's something that holds me from buying one. The 10gb iPod doesn't come with the dock, but its not the dock that bothers me but is it possible to plug the iPod without the Dock into a USB 2.0 port with the iPod Dock Connector to FireWire and USB? And if not how can it be connected to a PC USB 2.0 port without the dock, what accesoire would I need or is it possible with the connectors etc. that gets deliverd with the iPod 10gb?

U don`t need a dock. U see, the connector on the bottom of the iPod is the same as the one on the dock. I own a 15gig and i don`t use the dock at all cause my iPod + iSkin (i recommend it) don`t fit. But trust me (on the sunscreen ) iPod is the best thing that will happen to u (well it was for me ), and don`t worry about battery cause i use mine everyday and i need to recharge it every 2 days (just a notce to pple that scream that the battery sucks :6 )

I just have my dock plugged into the computer and when i need to charge it or update it just stick it in *the dock*

u dont need one, u'll need a firewire PC card if u have a pc
