This morning I released a new theme called GnoMetal which as you can see from this screenshot is part brushed, part graphite. There is also a GAIM mod i did which will go well with the Gnome theme. Matching XMMS, MPlayer, firebird/thunderbird themes coming soon. Check the official release posts at AquaXP for more details.

Wow! ive been looking for a theme EXACTLY like this one 
Im not sure its ready for me to use though (could use some smoother rounded edges on the scrollbars, and for some reason the throbber in nautilus and the gnome panel notification area have some problems with background color/image/transparency
I hope you will be continuing to update and improve on this!
BTW i LOVE the fact that your theme replaces the default menu icons with my Fedora install that absoultely rocks!

GnoMetal V2 will be out shortly to fix some of the bugs stated above. I've already fixed the icon theme, and added close to 50 new icons. The gtk2/metacity theme has already received some work as well as new icons. Not sure if the nautilus throbber thing can be fixed though, but i'm gonna try one last thing. Check out info and updates on the theme and all my other Gnome related work right here.

BTW the links on your site are all funky (there seems to be 2 URLs and a ; in the URL(s))
love the icons in the menu! you get 100 bonus points for that (no more awful bluecurve icons!!)
scrollbars looking a bit better but still kinda odd on the curves for some reason
there seems to be an area around text entry boxes where it is not filled with the brushed metal
not sure if this is controled by the theme or not but for some reason gnome panel items are darker under the icons than the panel itself (example would be the volume applet) kinda the same thing happening with the nautilus throbber

unfortunately, there seems to be no way to fix some of the problems u mentioned because of the way gnome skins things, and the look of the brushed background. The background image is repeated to fill a whole area, so if ur desktop is larger than 1024 (i believe thats the background size i used), the brushed will start to be repeated. The only workaround to this would be to have a tiny image, but in that case, the brushed would look grey and not brushed, thereby defeating the purpose. That's y u see those problems with the throbber, and the volume bar. I'll keep working to see what i can do to fix it (aside from scraping the brushed). All suggestions are appreciated and encouraged so dont apologize!
BTW, GnoMetal XMMS and MPlayer are coming soon, and I've started work on a Milk theme, as well as GUIpod (all pending permission to use some images of course).
neat. now if only you would make either an aqua, graphite, or brushed theme then i woul;d like it. currently i use windows but as soon as he buys a dvd-r my dad is downloading me fedora. btw i like the bluecurve icons. i never saw the updated bluecurve, though. maybe it does suck.
