Msn 6.1.0207

Some of you may be a familiar with a little add-on pack called Windows-X.

Now before running at the sight of 'windows' hang on a second.

ALOT of people have been asking The Unknown for mods of his msn skins since the update of MSN Messenger to 6.1.0207. It seems like they've done this in order to simply deter skinners and patchers from creating stuff.

Little do they know that WE DONT GIVE UP!

So.... the point is I host Windows-X as a mirror and here is a link.

Uninstall your msn messenger and then reinstall using the download I've provided.

You'll be given a HUGE amount of skins to choose from. INCLUDING "The Unknowns" skin, (credit given to him of course within Installer and next to his skin)!

The skins include a WHOPPING FOUR MAC Styled Skins THREE aqua-styled skins, and a rather neat idea of a 'Glass' MSN, where the windows look transparent and glassy. (Entitled Clean MSN)

So enjoy the download. I'll post updates to the download should MSN Messenger update yet again.

Now you guys dont need to bother

Oh and if you have a complete skin, let me know, and I'll try to get it into the Windows-X pack.

There are other skins, but they are either simple mods or I couldn't be bothered lol. Plus I didn't make the screens look super cool as they probably will look better on your desktop.

NOTE:

You do NOT have to uninstall in order to try another skin. Simply run the installer and choose repair. It will give you the option to change the skin

NOTE2 UPDATE:

Alright all this is the update so that it works with the latest version of messenger. It includes Unknowns BRUSHED MSN, which alot of you I've noticed have been asking for, so thanks to WindowsX you've got it. It has additional themes such as Bubble, Zelda, etc.. So you'll be happy messing around to your hearts content.

I can understand your motives, but they have to look here to get theunknown's skins anyway.

If they ask for them in the general discussion area, they'll get told to STFF.

i'll try to mod the installer to include the brushed version. But no promises. Since I need to get it to work with .203 first of all and second of all its not my installer. Otherwise I'll check into it.

Hi amnesia,

I agree with jumpers. The brushed/striped/whatever version would be a really great addition to the entire collection. That has been my all-time favourite MSN messenger skin since I downloaded it! :wub:

Thanks, I should add that this list isn't fully compiled by myself but by one of Oxygen-X's members Windows-X, I have created some mods to it thought.

I'll try my best with the brushed theme.

Windows X actually made a mistake (which he knows about) with the naming of ClearMSN...it's gonna be fixed in his next pack...which will also include Rolando's GANT skin, theunknown's Brushed skin and (possibley) JabInc's Brushed skin...I've suggested he also puts in Huuf's Zelda Skin (which currentley only works for an older version of MSN so I won't post it)...the new pack was actually meant to be released by now but I can wait for it...

Would be cool to have thumbnail or pictures of each skin (main windows and conversation window) to avaliate each skin before installing it. I didn´t know many of those skins by name.

I was kind of hoping to mentioned Windows-X as a suprise. But I guess now that it's out in the open. Windows-X always ads skins constantly as they appear.

I'll be hosting the new release of course as well. But I personally can't give a final release date.

@amnesia: Don't worry about the release date mate. I guess what's important is that we all know that it's going to be great pack coming out at the end of the day. And knowing what it consists of is more than enough. :lol: Waiting for something good is definitely not a problem for me.

@ronin: I agree to that point about the thumbnails. I don't know lots of the skins by name as well.
