Address Book Bugs
daclothe > smallest of bugs to report (i don't know if there's another bug thread) but in the help menu the magnifying glass in the upper right hand corner is cut off. i've attached an image so you can see.
what's that "magnifying glass" ? do you mean the animated gif ?

about limitations :
Outlook import > I think that outlook supports vCards export, so you can import many vcards at once by dragging / dropping them in the cards list in Address Book
CSV import is planned
change skin/language : not planned yet, maybe later....

This is a minor error. For some reason Winfx has some problem shadowing your app. I have tried it with various shadows and still get the same effect. Anyone else having the same problem?
when you click on the buttos (hide or show navigator) well. when you do it it looks very awful (the skin) i think it is a rezise problem or something....
well atleast it is a "look bug" ...

just making sure that you recognized what i posted in my screenshot. if you want me to post a full screenshot i will.
but if it's an animated .gif, then the bug is that there is no animation
i have clicked it, clicked the links in the help, used the forward and back buttons, tried to click on the text bar, and nothing has happened. no animation and the image still looks kinda weird.
maybe it's just me - maybe i'm not doing whatever needs to be done to animate it??

in fact that's the throbber from mozilla firebird (a challenger to IE), and I think that what you consider to be a weird picture is just the normal one
otherwise you can send me a screenshot (not here, but with 'report a bug' in address book)

Don't use transparency effects and I thinks everything will be ok
I might consider disabling this feature in future release as most people reports bugs.

got the update - the new throbber works like a charm!
I think the reason that the address book does this is because of the resolution. When I have my screen resolution set at 1600x1200, the address book looks like it does in the picture below. Anything below 1600x1200, then it looks perfect...

I don't agree. I'm running @ 1600x1200 and it looks perfect. BTW you have some odd fonts there - titlebar font is too big, others too. Compare it to Jib's screenshots.

ok, you caught me. since it's not that, i thought that i would try and test the only thing i changed on my computer since i changed the resolution. so here it is (and i tested it) :
i changed the fonts within XP to large fonts (120 dpi) instead of the standard normal fonts (96dpi) these setting can be found in the display propertied, under settings, then by clicking advanced. with the fonts normal, the address book looks perfect but with the fonts set to large, it looks like the picture i posted above.
I guess it's not so much a bug but something I know a few other people were having difficulties with.
Does Address Book automatically use IE to connect to the web?
If it does, can you work it to use the default browser instead? I use Firebird and I like using IE as little as possible.
The IE pop-up to allow or disallow cookies was a surprise when I used the "locate on a map" feature. I was expecting the Firebird pop-up instead.

unfortunately, there's no way to use another browser for internal links (locate on a map and help) because only IE provides an ActiveX control to be included in VB application.... sorry for that.
