What is everyones favorite case, company, etc...?
And...Why doesn't a PC Case Making Company just copy the G5 Design because I WANT TO PUT MY PC IN ONE!!! (I check ebay everyday to see if some crazy person would just sell the case)

my fav case is the cheiftec matrix. As for tricking apple into selling you a g5 case the best way (this is realy sneaky) is to buy a G5 and give the innards to me. The reason other people dont copy the G5 case is cause ittd be ummm what are the words, illegal? As for sticking a PC into a G5 case it would be almost imposible, considering the form factors. Youd have to completly redesign the inside of the case to make it fit, epecialy with the g5 over the g4, cause its got a wayyy funkey innards. Best off building a case that looks like a G5 case, woulnt be that hard realy, just a buhcha good metal, bend it up a little for the handel, put mesh over the front and back, and another sheet on top and file down all the corners, boom G5 esque case.
i don't really have any preference for cases. i'm using an aluminum raidmax case right now, but lian li cases are pretty nice also.
if you could get your hands on the g5 case, you could probably do some case modding to fit everything in there. it'd be a lot of work, but you might consider it worthwhile.
Personally, I'm torn between Lian-Li and Coolermaster.
For my next case, however, I'm going to be making my own... Sort of.

I must admit, I think my Lian-Li PC60 is one of the best cases ever made. I just want something that's a little bit more "me".

Funny you should say that, the first one is home to Elite PC's Titan FX, which Anand reviewed, and said is the best PC system (i.e. purchased as a whole system) they have reviewed . Ever. Bar none.

I know it's illegal to copy the case but maybe if someone could "simulate" it...

Given time, you could...
The G5 motherboard, if you didn't know, follows the BTX Standard (PDF - 414Kb), which is what most motherboard manufacturers are going to be moving to, over the next few years...
And why not try building your own, SpyderFCS? If you want, once I'm done with AutoCAD, I can send you my designs (or even post them, if people are interested) for my G5-esque case, and you could make your own

Eventually, I am going to build a system; most likely next year sometime. As for the designs, I would LOVE

If you're too poor for a CoolerMaster, you won't like my plans for my G5 case...
Step 1 - buy an Aluminium case suitable for EATX mobos. Throw away said case, keeping mobo tray.
Step 2 - rip apart mobo tray, keeping only the backplate
Step 3 - design G5 case to fit
Step 4 - send designs off to Aluminium water-cutting company
Step 5 - Build
It's gonna run to about £500, but it will rule!

Ok I found this case on newegg but I can't decide if it is the same case or not. The thing that gets me is that the "model number" is the same for the first pic I posted and the newegg pic. But to me, the first pic is a all silver case with a black front inlay and the newegg pic is a black case with a silver front (with black inlay).
I would order it now from newegg if I knew it was the right color.

timan, that case is like $10 if not $9.99.
With that case you'll see oily finger prints all over the case. That shiny plastic capsule will be broken after a short while quickly. :banging:
