I apologize if this was asked before but here it is:

Good, think it but don't post it, This is not a warez site, and I am sure any disscusion of warez, cracking, AND STEALING software will result in a ban of your IP from this site.

If people don't share cracks and warez they shouldn't be banned. Banning for any disscusion of warez, cracking, AND STEALING (while all the people in forum seek for ripped mac themes, or 1:1 "about my mac" boxes made from original screenshots etc.) seems really odd to me.
I don't really get your understanding of copyright, people. You hate warez and especially STEALING software, but sharing original mac icons seems okay to most of you. Aren't they a peice of art? Sure, they are. But I don't hear "YOU STEAL FROM APPLE" often on this forum. Be consecutive, eh?
Maybe someone will explain me about this discrepancy?

he has a very a good point
We aren't exactly stealing from Apple. I don't think Apple mind us using their icons, it's not like we're making money with it. Apple know of our existance and they know we're helping them in term of sales / marketing. So I guess it's a win/win situation. Same goes with the 1:1 stuff, we aren't making money. Besides, most aren't even 1:1. That's why you see a lot of us here eventually got tired of customizing XP and bought a real mac.
But when you illegally obtain a software that the developer wants you to pay for it, it's called stealing.
EDIT: Ignore my babbling if I don't make sense, plus this argument is so old it's not even worth bringing up again.
why has the topic gone further than "by buying it"? c'mon people <_

preach on brotha!
edit: what gets me the most is when someone complains someone used part of a theme they made without permision that was a 'port' of aqua.
This is a moot point anyway. Maybe someone should create a topic to talk about copyright problems there?

Seph, it's just the first idea that comes to mind. But I thought out a few additional ways:
1) by making someone to buy it for you (ruses, blackmail, threatening etc.);
2) by writing a tearful letter to maintainers of the project (i.e. "help, I can't buy your wonderful software, and my religion doesn't allow me to crack it, but those damn banners really piss me off!");
3) by learning C++ and stuff and trying to join the developers - you'll be able to use any version without buying it;
4) by uninstalling Opera and using good old IE. no pleasure, no free memory, but no ads;
5) by covering up a place on the screen where ads are shown with opaque scrap of smth;
6) [extreme way - use with caution!] by meditating hard: in case of success, you'll find out that there are no banners in your Opera. but there's a disadvantage (side effect): you can also find out that in fact there's no neither Opera nor aqua-soft.org.
OK, OK i wont crack OPERA (ill go back to Firebird).
But I`ve found more then one "tutorial" on how to "crack" comercial software here :goku's job:

Just answer me this:
Is there a legal "Talkable" and by talkable i mean, here in AS - legal way to remove the ads from opera other than buying it?
That;s why i said, why has this topic gone further than "buy it"
i think was just being facetious.
in any case, i think the question has been answered. yes, piracy is always a problem, but no warez was discussed here. let's keep it happy, people.
:orgy:
ADMIN`S please close this topic!!!

and :sorry: for starting a massive wave of spam ![]()
Jeez, a thousand free (as in speech) browsers out there and you people want to hack one of the few pay ones.
1. No warez talk at all, you will be suspended. AND YES, IT STILL COUNTS IF YOU BUT IT IN A LITTLE FONT.
2. If you want us mods/admins to look at a thread, please PM us, if you make a post in the thread asking us to close it, we'd already have seen the thread anyway.
