hmm, good concept but i think the mountains need a texture to them other than just green and maybe add a tree or some grass here or there.
just wondering, why is there a band of white (snow?) at the base of the mountains, ringing the lake? i suppose you don't mean it to be snow, then some kind of mist or fog? but anyway, nice sky and water
Looks like sand on an ocean beach to me. 
Idea is good but it's too sterile if you know what I mean. Add life! Like Enfrost said: textures! Grass, trees, some animals, maybe a building? Make it more complex, more realistic!

Ha ha, funny you said that!! I was just complaining to a friend how everyone in my classes always uses the sea-scape slide template bundled with Powerpoint!! Here it is attached:
