I Just Switched To Mozilla
Personally, I use Phoenix (stripped-down Mozilla) and I"ve had no problems with it yet ![]()
MDZ61384, Its funny that you would consider Phoenix the stripped down Mozilla. Its supposed to be the to Enhanced version! Well, once all of the bugs and stuff are out of the way anyways! ![]()
I just started using Mozilla as well. Got a few questions though... I was using IE and popup killer, but popupkiller isnt working for mozilla, Ive check the options and nothing is there to specifie browser, so my question is.. can any suggest a good maybe even free popup stopper for mozilla?
Also wheres a good place to grab skins for this browser?
thanks
As far as I know, When I had pop-up killer it worked fine for Mozilla. I think you may have Mozilla's built in Pop-Up Killer turned on. It may be affecting Pop-Up Killer. I ended up reformating my hard drive a couple days ago and lost Pop-Up Killer and just baught Norton Personal Firewall so I cant tell you if that affects it or not anymore. If you got a high-speed connection like DSL or Cable, I would defiently recommend speing the extra cash for Notron Personal Firewall, its so great. It not only blocks pop-up ads but even gets rid of most banner ads! As for skins, if you browse the forums there a really great skin called AquaMoz that I am currently using. But if you want a different look, themes.mozdev.org is really great for some themes.
I prefer zonealarm pro over NPF .ZAP is more powerful, and it's more customizable
I used Mozilla with Navzilla theme but I'm not sure
. This theme is cool but I look incomplete:
Some bar haven't aqua aparience, some font isn't LucidaGrande... etc <_<
What theme do you use? If is posible add screenshoot. Thank
for the built in pop up stopper to be active, turn off all your other pop up stoppers(i dunno if thats the cause but you wont need one with good ol mozilla, trust me) then go to:
edit>preferences
advanced>scripts and plugins>[uncheck]open unrequested windows
here is my mozilla theme i use right now. i think i might check out that Navzilla theme, it looked pretty nice.
i use mozilla whenever i can, i cant stand ie. mozilla still has some trouble with some of the java applets that are out such as the upload picture applet at freewebs. well i havent tried it lately to tell you the truth.
Yeah, mozilla has a built in pop up stopper (as explained).
Plugins I use:
Bannerblind, removes banner ads from sites.
Jabberzilla, integrated IM service.
Of course Mozilla comes with these useful things:
IRC Chat
Mail Program
HTML Editor
Aqua theme I use:
aquaMOZ (made by a great member)
i gotta get mozilla for windows now.. i just like it.. and i cant stand pop ups so thats cool that it has a built in pop up stopper.. i never knew that.. lol
phoenix has been my default browser for some time now. i was a huge IE fan then decided to try out mozilla and after a few releases i switched to that. and once phoenix's development furthered i switched to that because it is a lighter browser than mozilla but with all, IMHO, good features of moz. i'm usin' the rhapsodized theme for it.
a couple good sites to get themes for phoenix are www.DeskMod.com
, http://texturizer.net/phoenix/themes.html , and http://themes.mozdev.org/phoenix/
Hey GUESShimself, thanks for the links, Ive finally got a great theme for Phoenix!
