yz shadow or whatever and WFX take a lotta CPU. I find CursorXP can run up your CPU as well. OB is mostly massive amounts of ram, but sometimes it gets crazy and eats up CPU too. the Dock's aren't bad, unless you're mouseovering like crazy. Other then they just idle.

OB takes a lot of ram sure, but... it doesn't eat up the CPU more than windows taskbar... (i only have a "show start menu" shortcut and the system tray)

what eat the CPU is all the processes that are used by all the windows (WinFX, Iblend, YZshadow...) cause the transparency oblige the programm to calculate what's behind the window... so it take more CPU

now the way to reduce youre CPU usage... shut down all the useless applications that you have and keep the minimum, personnaly iblend, yztoolbar or yzshadow... it's beatifull to make a screenshot but... not very usefull!!

and otherwise... buy an Mac ;);)

hehe :woot: :woot: :woot:

Do you have a graphics card or onboard graphics my cpu usage dropped drastically after installing a graphics card

Check yourself which processes are eating the most memory in Task Manager. Then you have to choose whether you want your GUI to be as attractive as possible, or find a compromise between that and performance, and kill those running tasks. For example, even though I have a high-end system, I still only use TWO full-time emulation softwares, just my necessitites (Y'z Dock and Y'z Toolbar) Really though you'll find much emulation is done by resource hacking. That way, some modders don't require ANY running software to have their machine modded beautifully.
