Y'z toolbar is fantastic. Did you search at all for this? I think you can find a lot of posts on this topic.

He probably didn't, but anyway. I can think of three ways to remove it. I have no idea about replacing but... read on.
1. Y'z Toolbar, like ji eun mentioned. Look around in options.
2. TweakUI. I heard that it can change, though not necessarily remove the throbber.
3. Registry Editing. I personally use this and it's pretty good. Download this and give it a try. How to use is pretty self-explanatory.

You can use Xteq Systems X-Setup from www.xteq.com (This is a very user friendly registry editor, not like regedit.exe).
