Usually Speaking What Icon Size Do You Use?
I like to 72x72 because if you set to 128x128 the icons in the open dialougs just look obese.
My normal windows icons are set at 72.. Using DesktopX my desktop icons are at 256x256. But that's at 1600x1200. On my 1024x768.. i still use 128 on my desktop, but normal icon sizes on everything else.
Do you think 128 icons is too big ,and hard for you to find files?

and man how you just change the desktop icons size and keep normal for the rest icons?

keep the big fatty size on the desktop ('icons' view by default), then in your folders you set the view to tiles, or thumbs, or list, or whatever.
For example, have the view set to 'icons' in your icons folder, set to 'thumbnails' in your PNGs folder, tiles for documents folders, etc etc.
use tweak ui to get rid of some shortcuts in the 'save as' dialogue boxes, trim the fat in your start menu, and everything looks lovely.
btw, i'm at 1280x1024 with 128s.

i use 128x128 on my desktop but on OD i use normal at 56 pixels and 85 for magnified (i'm at 1280x1024 res) it works alright for me...

I kind of like the idea to actually be able to tell what the icon is supposed to refer to in the real world (no, I'm not blind). And I LOVE looking at those beautiful little pieces of art that icons are. Since I started using 128x128 instead of 72x72 my desktop has transformed from beautiful to, what Mr Burns would call, "Excellent!" (well, I guess beautiful and excellent are not on the same semantic scale, but anyway).
I like the look of a clean desktop so 48 x 48 is as large as I go right now. Also due to the fact that Windows keeps all the icons at the same size anything larger looks rather ridiculous.
I'm currently using 32 small and 48 big. I used to use 64 and 128 for my big icons but they take up too much space. Less is more.
Actually, I find the 32x32 small icon size much more useful than any big sizes. Gives the you a very nice open working space. 
If you have a dock, then how many icons do you need on your desktop? I just have a network drive there, the recycle bin and a couple of folders. 90% of the wallpaper is viewable, the desktop is clean and uncluttered. I use 128x128 iconx at 1280 x 1024 rez.
My desktop icons are in the default size, 32x32.
I prefer to have as much of my wallpaper as possible when minimizing everything, so I keep on the desktop just 2-3 icons (folders of projects i'm working on, mostly) ... and that's on a 1600x1200 desktop 
Ya, at work I use the 256 on my desktop, but in all reality. I only have 1 shortcut on my desktop, and it's mostly only there to show off my sexy SnowE2 @ 256. Other then the occasional "Download to desktop.." there's never anything there for longer then 15-20 minutes.
