Pocket Pc Goes Panther!

My second ever Pocket PC theme.

Panther for Dashboard.

This skin works best with the latest release of Dashboard. I am using version 1.3.001c. if you use older versons, some of the skin items show up in the wrong place or offcenter.

Please view the "panther_how-to.jpg" file to see what works what.

How to Install:

Create a "Panther" folder in the *\program files\snoopsoft\dashboard\skins* folder and copy the contents of this file there.

If you are running PocketPC 2002 then copy the Panther.tsk file to your "My Documents" folder on your device

and select it in the *start/settings/today*.

I included a WisBar skin in this file as well. In order to use the wisbar skin, you need to install the latest wisbar (google it).

Well, it's not the first Mac related skin, but it is the first Panther one...

AND the most realistic.

All the others are...kinda lame.

Nice skin Duckie. Haven't used Dashboard for a long time after switching to FaceLift.

Guess I have to start using Dashboard again just to get my money's worth. (Did you ever notice how expensive PPC apps can sometimes be?

Don't have Dashboard so I installed the today theme and Wisbar theme. Looks good! The startbar background is shorter than the original which messes up Wisbar's "Small date and time" Is there a way to correct this?

It isn't freeware but it isn't expensive either and they do have a demo version. It's the best $15.00 I spent for my PPCs.

They've got a cool skinning application that lets you create full skin themes.

Nope. Just a relatively poor screen. I'm not complaining though. Thing was only $125 (which is a lot to me, but cheap for a Pocket PC).

that's with the USB dock AND 128mb memory card.

I dont use that date/time plugin for my theme.

That's why I put the date on the window, not on the bar.

Also, by having the bar 'normal' thickness, it ruins the 1:1 panther look, so i found a way to do it thin.

Finally, if you are using a PocketBlinds skin, it wil affect this theme.

I got my Audiovox Maestro on eBay about a year ago, I believe. And I got a 64MB CF card with it. Had to get my own sync cable though. <_<

By the way, I like how you put everything together. The way it's done is great considering the oddities of Pocket PC skinning (taskbar doubling as window frame and all that). (Y)

I've just discovered this wonderful Pocket PC theme. Very nice! It's marvellous to able to skin yor Pocket PC, as well as your ordinary PC, into Aqua Panter! Much appreciated!

I have a few questions:

1) Why is there an unused gap between the Agenda window and the Dock? Is it to be able to see a part of the Panther background and thus get a feel for the Aqua theme?

2) Which font is used? Is ths font included (because I can't find it), or where can I download it? I use Dashboard v2.1.08, and I just see the ugly Tahoma, Frutiger Linotype and Courier New fonts.

3) How do you customize the Today's Date field? My date is shown in a much smaller font size than the rest of the text in the Agenda window.
