[release] Object Dock Sounder

Object Dock Sounder is a small application that will run on the background and will play a sound when you hoover over an Object Dock Item.

Download Dock Sounder.

I have an idea....my dock items make the sound break beacuse I browse among them. why not change the option to have a mouse-over sound when you access the dock and not every shortcut?

UPDATE:

Download Dock Sounder v1.3 (case-sensitive server).

version 1.3:

->added MP3/WMA etc support, (virtually any file can be used, even avi's)

version 1.2:

->added "on dock item click", play sound option

->added "on dock enter/leave" play sound

Note:

This version comes with an extra file called mousehook.dll. This is needed for the onclick event.

Note 2:

V1.3 comes with an extra file called audioplay.dll this is needed for playback of sounds. Dock Sounder will refuse to run without this.

Hi all,

Object Dock Sounder 1.5 is a small application that will run in background and will add sounds to your dock.

With this version it's possible to:

- play a sound (all common types supported) on dockenter

- play a sound on dockleave

- play a default sound when an icon is hovered

- play a default sound when an icon is clicked

NEW feature:

- Use different sounds for different icons for hover/click of an icon, based on the label that is shown above the icon. When you don't have a sound set for a particular label, the closest match will be used. Otherwise, the default sound will be used.

Expected in version 1.6:

- Sounds for the "poof" effect

- Using TextToSpeech, the icons label can be read out to you when you mouse over it.

- A new mouseover detection mechanism.

i can tell you it takes 6MB here, but Task Manager can tell you a lot more ;)

open it, go to the View menu, and click on Select Columns...

Well, that API (SAPI5.1) is totally new to me, so it could take a while. But I really want to do it. Imagine hovering over judges SysStats and than a friendly voice is telling you that your CPU load is 20% or that the current date is "Saturday 6 December".

RAM usage is here about 2 megs, but that is system dependent, because some codecs are loaded for playback of files.

I will come with quick update soon that allows to have more sounds being played at the same time. A so-called "polyphonic"-version, so you can play piano on your dock :);)
