Or if it was your local ip you meant, you could just have a samurize script

then just Network Connections>[your commection]>support> bingo your ip # now write it down on the back of your hand

actually just tried it out, pretty cool. It is in the systray and stuff

ya know... the IP in control panel i s not always your ip... im on a router, so my ip is 192.168.0.1 hehe... But thats not my *real* ip. You need one that can tell what your real one is. This can be useful for webservers, and if your into networking and stuff. And if you have broadband, your ip changes often, so thats why he would need it. I dont know any programs though.

I'm not sure why it lists some locations wrong, probably lists the location of the main server of you ISP.
The prgram used for the IP checker is called IP-Atlas 1.0, it can be found

Well, i was listed in Hamsterdam or something.. And i use Telenor, which is currently only in Norway, and i dont think they got any servers in Hamsterdam?
I'm behind a router too. Even the router doesn't list my IP: 10.1.1.101#
Aren't the 10.x.x.x ones hidden or something?

I have broadband and mine has been the same for about a year. It's dial-up that changes a lot.
Right click your SYS Tray connection icon, click Status, click the Details tab.
Much easier than going through Network Connections or using commands.
If you have a static IP from your ISP, it is always the same. Dynamic IP changes according to the when lease has expired on the IP number, could be every time you log on, everyday or everyweek. Dial-UP changes everytime you log on the internet.
If you use MyIE2, in options>status bar you can have the pleasure of seeing your IP in all it's glory!!

This is a samurize script specially made to show external IP's pretty usefeul if you are behind a router... check it out, might be able to implement the same scrip on a taskbar entry...
