Looking Forward To Buy An G4 Ibook...

i'm selling my pc for buying an ibook :wub: ...

only want to have a mobile access to airport wlan, officeprogs, music and chatstuff.

but i can't decide

(1.) if it's worth to buy a g4 ibook or just buy an cheaper old g3 ... :blink:

(2.) exists a program like vnc or radmin wich gives you visual access to an winpc ?

(3.) is there a usb extended soundcard wich gives 5.1 sound support ?

(4.) what irc or messenger clients exist ... maybe freesource like miranda for winpc ?

(5.) what burning progs exist ... are they included if i buy a new one ?

(6.) what possibilities of a server have i, if i own osx ? http ? ftp ? must i buy additional software :blink:

(7.) exist something like partion magic for osx ? how can i devide my harddisk into different parts

(8.) what about filesharing progs on a mac ? i know of edonkey... are there more ... like soulseek ?

(9.) what's your opinion about an ibook (g4) ... any bad/good experiences ?

JUST GET A MAC don´t be afraid !

Everything you need and more are available for macs.

1. get the G4 ... faster and comes with panther

2. you can have any windows in your pc in a window, but i recommend to get mac appz

3. don`t know...

4. i use fire... is the better repplacement for trillian

5. You can burn your files prom the finder.

6. You can have ftp, www, file sharing between macs and pcs in your G4. its amazingly easy. + it comes with an apache server...

7. don`t know... but since panther is unix based it`s drive file management is far better than ntfs or fat32

8. i used overnet in my pc and thought that it was ok... or at least better than kazaa but in my ibook "poisoned" is the best p2p i have ever used.

i wanted a mac since about 4 years ago... and for more i have looked for reviews...

it never replaces the feeling. everything is smaller, lighter, better, far more stable than win, easy to use, faster... what else do you need????
