Any Reason To Switch This Year?

Im thinking to switch and to buy PB 1.25ghz (15"). But is it better to wait for the spring 2004 (or maybe even for the summer ) and also for apple to release g5 PB? G4 PB is already 2 years old and that's kinda confusing me... what do you think guys?

Whenever you buy, something better is going to be released in around six months, maybe sooner.

So if you're concerned about supercession, wait until the next update and buy then - generally a product will have a six month shelf life at that pricepoint/spec.

At least if they don't come out with a new Powerbook, prices will be down on the ones already out. No interest in buying a desktop?

Don't expect G5 Powerbooks until next Summer at earliest in my opinion. You could wait until they're released, but then they might be revised within three months. Do you wait till then? They might be speed bumped in another four months. Do you wait again?

And if you did, you'll have gone all that time without a Mac at all.

Buy one now.

I didn't think I'd like the 12" iBooks either, but they are really really convenient. Small and handy, a great battery life, and (now) powerful.

G5 desktop is good, but I just dont need it, 'couse I have a great pc desktop, enough to run doom3 on high resolution. So there is no point to buy ANOTHER computer now.

As Taha I also think, that mac computers are making good laptops. As a desktop computer, I prefer pc over mac.

So I dont even know..I definately dont want to buy pb g4 AND then change it for another g5 version in 6 month..dont have too much money to spend on it.
