Transparency

im new to Icon Workshop and so far it has been great for me..

but one thing i wld like to know is how can i apply the transparency in a image file when i port it to .ico format? (eg. the original .png file has white bg)

anyone nice enuff to tell me how?

You need imageing skills there. Import the image, now in the image window, click the I icon and create the icons from it. Now select the pencil tool and at the properties in the lower right hand side, set the opacity to 0%. It's alot easier if you have photoshop, but then again, who really has photoshop. Because you need to chage the opacity every time so you don't get the non-antiailiased edges. There is also a smooth command, but it is a little cheasy.

Firstly check, in an imaging application such as Fireworks or Paintshop Pro, if the background is changable. It should usually be changable unless the person that made it flattened the whole image as a bitmap.

If not follow Wizard's instructions.
