samurize stopped updating again and the "not executed" things are popping up everywhere....any reason other than that weather.com may be changing its code again?
Desktop Weather Woes
Are you using the XML weather version?
Wish I could help you more, but I stopped using Samurize for weather scripts because I got tired of having to reload it to change the image. My Weather Docklet for ObjectDock works just fine though, so I doubt it's a problem with Weather.com. And thanks ![]()
exxxactly!
i checked my objectdock one, no problem there
yz dock one wont go
konfabulator on moms iBook wont work either.....hmmm
have you tried re-doing the script? just unzip the script again and reset everything, and then try it. also try deleting the temp files (the xml files).
gah i deleted the temp xmls, ill replace the whole script and see what happens
edit: didnt work. i just installed a new version of mcaffee virus scan (2003 home edition. it doesnt have a firewall so i dont know what the problem is
god damn...
*sigh*
i seem to recall reading somewhere that the virus programs can hinder samurize... see if you have a setting to not scan for scripts... scripts are often used as the vehicle for viruses, but in this case, you know it's not. and since you said you just installed mcaffee and it stopped working, that seems to be the culprit.
I forgot about that, Samurize uses scripts that most antivirus programs think are malicious, my Norton Antivirus tries to stop it all the time.
I had the same problem a while back, and could not for the life of me figure out as to the cause. It turns out that I had accidently disabled/deleted scripts on my computer (don't know how though, perhaps an install, scan and clean by AdAware since I always have Norton running). I downloaded this:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en
...and my desktopweather works again.
My situation was the same as yours: desktopweather didn't work, but OD weather docklet did. So you can try and see if this solution works for you.
@Nate1861-
"Wish I could help you more, but I stopped using Samurize for weather scripts because I got tired of having to reload it to change the image."
Did you try the XMLDesktopweather with the auto restart/reload that doesn't leave multiple icons in the system tray? No need to manually reload to change the image. Been working perfectly for me since I downloaded the new version and fixed the scripts problem through MSFT download.
Keith: boy, you should get the Digital font...the clock in your config looks bad
Search for it, it's somewhere around..
BTW it's working for me.
The version I had was supposed to do that, but never did. It was the dark widgets one that's linked from this forum somewhere.
yeah, desktopweather is working for me. so try those suggestions. check virus scanners, etc.
here's 2 digital fonts (digital, transistor) for people who want them.
and for the restart script, it's added in v1.2 of the xml weather script. check it out at samurize. there's also a restart script add-on there too.
and is this the code that you added? http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/index.php?showtopic=8016
yes! the download fixed it! thanks!
Anyone have a copy of the script linked at Samurize?
For some reason Samurize will not let me download from them whatever I do. Below is the error message I always get. I'm downloading from the Samurize page, I don't use a download manager, and I don't use Norton Firewall, so I don't know what the deal is ![]()

You know, you can reply to the PM rather mentioning it to everyone that you recieved it. It kind of helps with cutting down on the spam, in otherwords, it's irrelevant.
Gotcha.
