Photo Editing Program

OK, so ive been using the PhotoShop Elements2 Demo for i guess 30 days now and it just ran out. I love it, but unfortunatly dont have $100.

Anyway, do any of you know of a free photo or picture editing software thats decent. I realize its not going to be anywhere near as good as photoshop, but i dont do anything advanced anyway, so anything would be appreciated.

ok, to all you GIMP experts. When im using GIMP, in my dock (OD) each menu is thought of as a seperate program, so i end up with 5 or 6 GIMP icons in my running bar in ObjectDock. Anyone know how to fix that?

I just bought Photoshop 7.0 it was really expensive (but is was worth it)

Yeah, how much is photoshop 7, $300 or something like that. I wouldnt need anything more than elements anyway, im not a professional.

GIMP is working out fine though, plus its MUCH LESS of a memory hog (photoshop Elements was taking up 128MB of ram!). GIMP takes up like 25. I can actually run ObjectDock and Y'z apps at the same time, thats nice.
