New Policy On Flaming

I have noticed an alarming trend in this forum, and that is that nearly every thread started here turns into a flame war- this happens even though the rules of this forum explicitly state that flaming is not allowed. As a result, I am implementing the following policy towards flaming:

1st Offense: 3 Days Suspension from A-S

2nd Offense: 10 Days Suspension from A-S

3rd Offense: You will be banned.

And for those of you wondering "Will I get a warning first?"....no. What you are reading now is your warning.

Why such a harsh policy? Because I'm tired of developers and graphic artists getting flamed with comments like this:

well thats good, now we dont have thoes skins avalable to us anymore. This is going to sound obtrusive and insensitive, but is someone using your images in a skin realy the end of the world? ...I seriously think artists get way too sensitive about their stuff.

and this:

I might have some sympathy...but since he's been a prick saying "these icons can't be converted to windows just because it's windows", I don't.

Our members should not be flaming the people that make this community possible in the first place! Why do you think developers run out on us? Why do you think graphic artists won't let us convert their Mac icons? Because they receive comments like these from ungrateful people, because the general attitude of our users is "What's the big deal?". This reflects very poorly on this community.

Starting now, I will implement the above outlined rules, whether the thread is closed or open. If you flame anyone, you will face the consequences. Just follow the golden rule of posting, and you'll be fine: Think before you post.

Yes, actually I did. It's a moot point- I shouldn't need to worry about suspending mods because they shouldn't be flaming in the first place.

If in the rare case they do, and it's to a severe enough degree, then yes, I would.

it would make sense that anyone can get banned... mods/admins need to set an example for the general membership, and if they don't, then find someone that can.

This is a great rule, i know that if i were a programmer, which i hope to be soon, flaming could turn me away from releasing apps to the public. So i stand in support of th is rule
