okay im in windows... messenger 6.1
suddenly.. my login account bolero_dan@hotmail.com does not login anymoire at all.. its like its disabled.. no warning message no nothing.. just cuts out
but i can login with other accounts here.. just not mine.. this is extreamly weird.. anyideas?

i am currently having same problem, im using version 3.5 on my imac its very annoying.
okay this is getting weird.. i made a NEW account, and im going through and im at the Personal Pictures dialog where you select your picture to show on chats...
and get this.. SUddenly just suddenly
"The unknowns" avatar appears in the list.. you know.. the mod The unknown here?
and another one called Cetra3... theres a member here called Cetra3
i have never had any of these people on any of my msn lists.. and there avatar stuff is in my personal picture list.. when these pictures are not on my computer.....

I had the same issue using Trillian
I created a new account and that worked fine but even when in Trillian but the old account is still not working
I don't have that problem with MSN but I do have it with Outlook Express cannot log into my account, tells me my correct login info is wrong, freaky crappy Outlook.

lol...strange, yes I am getting the exact same as you on my MSN Messenger 6.1 (1055 Final) version...
Now I am also Beta testing MSN Explorer 9, and of course the two programs have to used in order for MSN 9 to even launch...
Do you by chance have the unknown's Aqua MSN Messenger 6.1 skin? I do and love it, but the avatar (pics) of both the unknown & Centra3 have me perplexed?
Even when I go to Display picture options, I get a MSN Messenger pop up that states:
Your Display pictures can not be used, please create new ones...??
Hopefully we can futher explore why this is happening and rectify the issues...
P.S. I have had no account/login issues thus far...
thanks for the reply everyone... this is really making me confused and mad, i lost my contacts and i had alot on my bolero_dan accoubnt... i made a temporary one but hopefdully this is a temporary error on my account and will be fixed.
im not sure what can cause the avatars appearing of members i have never talked to on msn before (never heard of Cetra3 in my life.. so i noticed that The unknowns avatar was in my list... so i looked up cetra3 in the member list here at aqua-soft and long behold cetra 3 was there)

i have the same problem.......guys how does your mobydock program disable a msn screenname.........and how do we fix it.....i lovethe program, but this is really annoying!

just checked the trillian boards and it hot every one No clue But it crazy most can make a new account and connect fine but others cant ! Looks like its on msn side i hope they get it fixed !

Thanks, sorry about that. I checked on the passport site and my screenname still exists but it just will not connect to the server from my pc

tried to knock on my own, but it's buried under a bowl of congee, books, and papers.
and man, you got back on pretty fast. i was down for nearly 2 hours or so.
but it looks like the problems are clearing up, as i see more contacts signing on.

i have some time trying to get in, finally I could log in, according to their service status it was working. But I dont remember that it displays that the service is off, that indicator is a lie.

Yes agreed, for I was thinking that it was because of my MSN 9 Beta testing that was causing issues...
I did call MSN 9 Beta Tech Support, and they were reporting issues with both MSN 9 (Beta) email, and some Messenger issues...When I explained to them about having forum member avatars appearing in my display pics (who were not on my contact list), they had no idea what could be causing this...
Just checked and right now, in my Display Pics list...I have the Horses, Friendly Dog, Dirt Bike (default MS pics), but then have Centa3, the unknown's avatar (but it's listed as MSN1A), my Panther Finder pic, and then another Panther Finder pic named MSN45...
So I guess I will venture over to the MS Messenger boards and see what issues are being reported, and most importantly if there are any solutions...

The logon issue is an issue within the Messenger servers. In an IM forum there were many topics about it. It's just one of those things. Some accounts will work because they are stored on different servers which ARE functional.
The centra3 and unknown display pictures are built into the unknown skin.
The centra3 display picture is resource 307 under the PNG section in ResHacker. The unknowns is number 308.
Basically what theunknown did is just replaced two of the display pictures that MSN Messenger comes with by default and replaced them with his own. That's all.
