It won`t use any of my older skins ( no iDVD :rant: ) and it`s much more complicated than 0.86 i was using (not "more options" complicated but "stupid user friendly enchantments" complicated)
i don't like the new version. none the of old skins work right and the there are quite a few bugs.
i use widescreen lcd, so i rather have the player stretch video to full width as oppose to height. however in rc1 its changed to stretch to full height and i have to pan everytime but the feature is buggy 
as for other enhancements.. i don't know, don't really see much. doesn't seem to be better, i rather use .8.x for now.
I hope this is just a beta ...because ....IT SUCKS!
I was waiting so much for this .... the possibility to make better skins ...but nothing really change for good .... there are not major changes.
I see this version has called RC1. It means that´s not the final 1.0 version. Hope the final will be much better, cause for now i´ll keep the old 0.8

Although I've been a member of this forum for quite some time now, this is my first post. 
Old skins do work with this version. Just download the oldskin plugin here. Also, for almost every bug report, there is the same answer from bst(the author of bsplayer): "yes I know, it will be fixed in the next build". He also said that not all functions are in this build yet. After all this is RC1 and not the final version. But I like it more than the old version already.

have you looked into how skins are different in the new version? I haven't done that yet but it seems like the transparency support still isn't that great. then again i haven't looked into how other skinners make transparency. i know for the skins i ported (itunes & noir) doesn't have the problem where winfx shadows around the entire skin (even the transparent areas), not just the countour of the skin and ignore the transparent parts.
