Objectdock 1.00 Freeware

Thanks to Yuriok for the heads up.

Jeff Bargmann has finally released version 1.0 of ObjectDock and a lot of new stuff added as well as more bug fixes.

You can download from ObjectDock Website.

Note: Even though the filename is still ObjectDock95.exe, this is actually the 1.0 release.

Here's what's new

x-Issue with icons temporarily disapparing and/or stopping updating (e.g. clocks)
after changing screen resolutions or coming out of hibernation fixed.
x-Settings are now saved whenever the config dialog is closed, rather than on exit only.
x-Mouse activation:
     -When in "normal z-order" mode, will bring to front when mouse moves into activation area and leave there until another window is activated
     -When in "bottom" mode, will bring to front when mouse moves into activation area, and will put the dock back on bottom when the dock leaves the dock's area.
x-Resizable Icon Chooser dialog (remembers its size as well)
x-Added text to clarify how to remove docklets
x-Updated Weather plugin to use Weather.com's XML feed, and added ability to switch to metric units.
x-Fix issue with folders as shortcuts not properly launching
x-Run-visibility option added for shortcuts (run minimized, maximized, etc)
x-Improved clock to have thicker hands
x-Option to add your own separators added
x-Fixed a large number of additional little glitches found from postings on the messageboards, thanks to tips from testers

edit: nope. its still too jumpy when you roll off it, and totaly takes away from the smothness of a dock.

Except to make the correction that it's not 1.0, it's *release candidate 1*. Big difference. It's the first beta of the 1.0 release. If all goes well, it *could*potentially* be the 1.0 release. But there's a very good chance no new features will be added after this RC1.

Wasn't trying to be a **** directly at you. It's just the fact not only are you the 5th person to post about it, but it's also on the aqua-soft homepage.

Seriously, the first page I go to on A-S, is the new posts page. Which is now cluttered with people saying "OBJECT DOCK IS OUT!" post under that"OBJECTDOCK 1.0RC1 OUT!" post under that "OBJECTDOCK R OUT IT ROX UR SOX!"

serious people, i'm not too annoyed by people not STFF, but reposting the exact same thing 5x in one day. Redundancy KILLS.

I knew it has been posted at least thrice but Yuriok is the first to post in the proper forum and I took the opportunity to title this properly including the Release icon in the correct forum

If you have read Jeff's readme file, it says "ObjectDock 1.00 Freeware [11/10/2003]" as the heading.

Not that it makes any difference at all. But for the record books artag was the first person to post it here at 12:32 Yuriok didn't post until 12:43.

Ive just downloaded the new version and it looks the exact same as the older version i have on my desktop computer.
I dont mind creating the separators the old manual way but if this option is there then where is it.

i'm sorry but that must have been one of the stupidist posts i have ever heard. I don't want to flame you mentaleruptions but did you even look for the add seperator option? Open up object dock properties, go to create and new seperator.

Same as adding a new docklet or shortcut using right-click on the separator. It's also available on the Create menu in the configuration mode.

My apologies Flarex but my bookmark is on the main forum itself so I completely forgot that there was a homepage. :blink:

what he means is that after lets say, 2 months... if someone wants to find the thread that talked about the release of the RC1 of OD (or whatever release it is) itll be easier cause itll be in the correct forum...

thats what he measn by getting old.. this news wpont stay on the front page for ever.. they will get old..

I did do that and there isnt an option there for seperator.

Believe me i looked before posting.

Everything is the exact same as the version i have on my desktop pc there isnt one bit of difference and i downloaded this version from there site.

Arrghh...I haven't installed it yet, but in reading the "new features" I still don't see the one I've been asking for forever...dragging and dropping files onto dock objects...can anyone tell me if it has been implemented or not? If not, I won't even bother installing it.

gbz, you overlooked it, no worries, however no need to stretch it out as well. No harm done anyway (Y) . As they said, this has been posted yesterday and flarex has news'ed it immidiately once he came online.

@all: I strongly recommend people switch their hompage to Aqua-Soft.org rather than skip right into the main page. You dont have to, but I'm sure its much less convenient to retrieve all the latest updates and that is the MAIN REASON why we did the main page, so people wouldnt double post for a new release (its been a famous problem and GBZ surly knows it).

And I'm deleting this thread along with the other 3 or 4 soon too
