Stardock Bootskin Alpha 2 Is Out

Stardock has released alpha 2 of their new boot screen changing program. There are more options but some users have complained that it doesn`t work as well as Alpha 1. I also found out that BootSkin will be freeware when it comes out. Haven`t tried it yet but thought that u guys might like it.

HERE`s a link to the discussion

DOWNLOAD ALPHA 2A HERE

BootSkin Skins section @ wincustomize

edit: Changed URL to point to Alpha 2A, that should fix the bugs of Alpha 2.0. Also added the link to the skins section @ wincustomize

Enjoy ;)

I don't think there are many, if not any, boot skins released for it yet.

As the first thread about it stated, right now it's pretty basic, and I don't think it even supports animation. Their goal is to make it 32-bit with full animation. When that happens, I expect to see *many* new boot screens appearing, and a complete OSX boot screen clone.

*EDIT: Ok I'm a liar. I was just stopping by wincustomize, and it looks like there are quite a few our already. Didn't actually look at any of them though.

Ok...will have to wait then for further developments on this very promising app...

I am a little tired of looking at my rather drab WinXP SP1 (Home) Boot Screen, and have reviewed in complete detail the thread back in Feb. 2003 with discussions by ThreeDrives, Judge, MartinGy2k, Ender, & flyakite...

Yes it will be nice to have a 1:1 Panther Boot Screen with greyish background/w black apple and the animated spider-like throbber...Their goal of achieving 32-bit colur supporting full animation while not hacking the WindowXP kernel is commendable...
