Bandwidth is 10 times worse with our desktops threads and similar. with a Gallery, you get automatic thumbnails...less bandwidth.
sure, but we might get lots of irrelevant posts. people may upload anything without prudence.
That's why we need Gallery Mods!!! Where do I put in my application.

I would like a Gallery a lot, as long as the Bandwidth usage doesn't hit the Athmosphere. That could mean the downfall of this community, or the beginning of "Please Donate to our PayPal account so that this site can stay alive!" kind of thing... I've seen it happen. Now those sites aren't around anymore to tell the story...

I don't know why everyone is so worried about bandwidth.
It's not like instead of the average few hundred hits per whatever, there's going to be a surge of thousands of hits a second. There's still going to be the same amounts of requests, and even though the files being transferred will be a little large, everything theoretically would go at the same speed. Same users, Same hits = Same speed. Doesn't matter the content.
What I would be worried about is storage. You get 500-600 1280x1024 .jpg/.png images you're talking gigs of space, ontop of whatever the site already uses.
i dont think anyone mentioned hosting of the images...
and image files will obviously need bigger bandwidth.. cmon!

I think it would be a cool idea so im all for it.
I agree that it would need a few more mod's to keep an eye on things but that wouldnt be a bad thing.
As for the filesize u could restrict the size of files being submited so people would have to optimize there work a little before submiting screenshots and wallpapers and if there was user comments the links to the actual non optimized wallpapers could be downloaded that way.
Almost 86% for yes? that seems like a very high number of a normal distributed population dont you think? (damn statistics)
