Italk Teaser

I know I keep promising, but I'm still working out some bugs and last minute features. Please be patient.

Here's a screenshot of my desktop:

jef's desktop

As you can see, your avatar can be customized and I've updated the graphics to reflect the fact that it's MSN-based and not AIM-based.

Nice work. In a couple weeks, I can start cracking down on the AIM/Oscar protocols if you like. I'd love to see iTalk work for AIM, so I'd definitely be willing to help out.

I don't know VB, so what specifically would you need to know? Do you just want to know what messages need to be sent back and forth?

#6551

Umm Jef...can the apps now be shadowed using Y'z Shadow? I can see shadows for the apps in your screenshot...or has that just been added for the screenshot?

WOW!! True brushed windows!

#6557

Too bad I don't use MSN, because this looks great

If someone can get the AIM protocols to run in this, I will be very happy

#6559

It's so cool... Is it possible to have this presentation??

My apps use borderless windows and Y'z Shadow is ignoring borderless windows (as it should in most cases). However, Neil Banfield had me add an attribute to the window to force WindowFX to add a shadow to my borderless windows. Those are WindowFX shadows you are seeing.

I've tried contacting the author of Y'z Shadow to see if he would implement the same type of logic but never got a response. Maybe if enough people contact him, he'll do something.

Something on the lines of this would be helpful:

MSN Messenger Protocol

But for AIM/Oscar of course :)

Yes, I've worked out the activation issues with the ChilkatMail controls. (Thanks to Matt Fausey at Chilkat Software). AquaMail will work with all of the latest versions of the ChilkatMail controls.

I'm working on that now.

#6615

wow..

incredible...

jef, will you be able to add a "drawer" for the chat window?

if you do, would you PLEASE PLEASE make it the exact size of the parent window, cause wfx2 isnt like the OSX shadows, and you can see a distorted gap between the shadows and the drawer window..its also noticed in aqua mail...

if you could fix it up, i would love it.

thanks

p.s. you're a hero

What did you have in mind?

#6951

Why not do a grey background. Well not gray but a light brushed one like in da real iChat.

#6952

mihAily, the background is white in ichat :)

tough jef can make that an option.
