because the world is socialized into a sterile, passive facade of a polemic, the result of a desire for innocuous p.c.-driven discussions that lead to intellectual inhibitions--the fear of rocking the boat, or if the boat is rocking, the fear that they may be the cause of the capsizing.

well, we can never be sure what other people are thinking.

and why should we fear being the singularity?

exactly, where did the "stand up for what you think is right" saying go? isn't that what a debate is, and it takes at least two ideas to make a debate, so before starting a debate, you have to know of two ideas, that contradict each other, and take a side!

maybe someone should put in a [request] for someone to take a [poll] to see what kind of [debate] people would like to see in the future? first, though, we'll need to have someone [release] a [tutorial] on how to use the board features. after that's all done, a [preview] will be made available to make sure there are no [bugs]. then when it's time, we'll [compare] all of the results and make a big [offtopic][announcement]. Someone then will have to make a [link] to a [feedback] forum in which members can [help] each other disseminate the [news].

Best debate?

'Soup or salad?' -_-

[offtopic]

here's a joke regarding the theme of soup and debate:

It was Harold's 75th birthday, and Edith wanted to do something special for him. She called an escort service and got the most beautiful woman they had. It was Harold's routine lunch time and Edith called him in from outside and said lunch was ready.

"It's upstairs in the bedroom, enjoy" Harold trudges slowly up the stairs, and when he gets there, he sees the most beautiful blonde woman waiting naked in the bed. She seductively asks, "Hi Harold, Would you like super sex today for your birthday". Harold looks at her and thinks about it. He finally responds, "Well I first want to know what kind of soup it is".

Soup in the Winter, Salad in the Summer.

#75307

Chicken or egg... hands down.

#75328

Egg...

Breakfast (egg) comes before lunch or dinner (chicken).

#75335

Generally the things along the lines of PC vs Mac, Windows vs Linux, Football vs Rugby (maybe Gridiron vs Baseball for you Americans), Communism vs Consumerism, Mercedes vs BMW, Obox vs Gamecube vs PS2, etc etc etc.

Take two closely related items, used and enjoyed in similar ways, compare them directly, and just watch the thing escalate.

#75388

Actually it isn't either the chicken or the egg it was antoher creature that mutated into a chicken sometime in there evolutionary scale.
