Thinking back on the "Pokemon craze", I don't recall that it's was a female-dominant thing. Actually, as far as I remember, most Pokemon fans I know were actually male, and over the age of 18. I was never too much of a pokemon fan myself, with with repects to "girlie manga", I like to read Sailor Moon.
