Mac Sound Apps

Hey,

I'm thinking about Buying a mac. Yay!

But it has to have good sound programs.......

On my Puter I'm Running Sound Forge, Acid, Re-Birth, Fruity loops, Etc...

What sort of quality is there in the line of Mac sound apps? Is it comparable to what I'm using now? Also, what sort of cost is involved...

Any help or insight would be appreciated. :)

Cheers.

Hey bud. What I would recommend is buying a program called Virtual PC. It is a PC emeulator for the Mac, and I believe the most recent version can run XP. It's pretty reliable, and it would be more finacially sensible (I believe it runs about $150, compared to shelling out more $ to buy Mac versions of programs you already have). I myself use several of the programs you listed, and in my opinion, Virtual PC is the best route. Hope this helped!

quite nosense heh :P

For the Mac:

Sound -

Logic Audio Pro

Cubase

and more.

Video -

Premiere

After Effects

Final Cut Pro

and more.

Most top musicians use Mac's over PC's any day. Sound Forge, Rebirth and the like are for ****s and kiddies. Rarely are they used by real Musicians. Maybe Feminem, Blank 182, NoFXorSkillz, or similar use them, but we all know they suck.

I would suggest you come on over to #MidiWarez on EFnet and have a talk to me and some friends of mine.

Most of us work or have worked in the music industry as professionals.

Despites the word "warez" in the channel name, it is *not* a warez channel.

There is one person there that I would direct you to, he's a friend of mine, that is a sound technician/engineer at Abbey Roads. He uses both Mac's and PC's there and will be able to provide you with some valuable insight on both platforms.

Also, you may want to stop by #MusicDSP on EFnet. There one will find a lot of programmers that work in the music industry, that write the actual software!

Peace,

Grusic
