52000fx 128mb & Yzdock

Hello guys!

I just upgraded my motherboard and my graphic card

From an Aopen ak77pro to an MSI KT6 Delta and a BUilt in GeForce 2 MX 200 with 64 mb to a geForceFX 52000 128 megs.

Ive used all drivers and i still get the same 60 fps out of yzdock, is that even normal?!?!?!?!

What can i do?

EDIT: running YZdock 0.83, winxp pro SP1, 1024mb of ram and an athlonxp 2000+

Cheers

O.O *drools at comp specs* ... no clue but that thing should run like it's on a mac with those PC specs!

doesn't yzdock just use your cpu?

i thought mobydock was the one that uses gfx card for rendering/acceleration

actually can someone clarify how yzdock, obdock, and mobydock differs in terms of rendering the animations/resizing?

like which one uses hardware alpha blending if available etc..

#74792

yeah but it still needs some input from thew graphic card right?? thats my guess... hmmm i dont wanna leave yz!!!!

Y'z Dock and Object dock both use ONLY the CPU for rendering.

So as long as you have a video card w/ at least 16MB of RAM, you wont notice any performance differences.

Moby on the other hand is hardware accelerated, so its directly dependant on your video card. This is just like the real OSX dock.

yes, i think yz is cpu based, at least that is what I noticed on my comp, And somewhere around here there is a yz bench test results, and you can see graphics cards have little to do with performance/

ill have to give MD a go then  i will miss you yz!

Please do expand on the hardware graphiccard acceleration issues, i would like to know more about it....

yeah y'z dock isnt hardware aclerated at all. The cpu does all the computations. The cpu then sends it to the GPU to display.

Also whyd you geth the 5200? Your not going to see stelar hardware accelerations anywhere. Its not that much better then a mx200, and for a little mroe investment you coulda gotten a much better gpu.

came bundled with the mobo ;) so i didnt complain....

i dont use it for games anyway... i was just happy about getting a smoother doick experience LOL

I have:

Athlon XP 2400

GeForce FX 5400 128 DDR

512 DDR 2700

AOpen RF Wireless Optical Mouse

and it flys on my system

I recently found that by upgrading my mouse to a better resolution (800 dpi), the dock reacted MUCH more clean and quick.

well duckie you got a faster processor... ill check the mouse out... a friend has na 800 dpi mouse... ill give it a go...
