Mobydock 0.67 Is Out!

Hello!

The new MobyDock 0.67 is done and ready for download

You can get it here.

Please take a look at the readme file for details on how to setup some of the new features.

What´s new in this version

- Popup-Menus for folders (two different sizes possible; not for links to folders !!!)

- Popup-Menu for trash (empty trash)

- Popup-Menu for winamp 1.x/2.x, QCD and Windows Media Player (tested with WMP8/9)

(Play, Pause,Stop,Next Track, Previous Track, Close )

Hint: - mobydock will recognize winamp, qcd and wmp depending on the filename. if you renamed one of them or have other problems, you can change the item-type manually by editing the items.ini-file. here are the needed types (fourth parameter in the corresponding line):

- Winamp 1.x/2.x : 15

- Windows Media Player : 16

- QCD : 18

- POP3-Email-Checker with notification for up to 3 POP3-Mail-Accounts (how many mails in inbox, bouncing icon on new mails)

NOTE:

- to use your own overlay-image on the mail-notification item, replace the mailoverlay.png image on the dockconfig\defaults-folder with your preferred image(64x64 32 Bit png)

- mobydock does not provide any feedback when mail-checking does not work. So make sure you set the correct server, username and password

- for security reasons, the password is not saved to a file. You will be prompted for your password when you start mobydock.

- List-View for Icon selection

- the default-windows image (.ico) is displayed as icon, when you add new items by Drag & Drop

No 0.67 bug thread yet, so I'll post it here...

Installed 0.67, ran fine for about 15 minutes, then motion of the dock got real sluggish and "jerky" instead of smooth. Quit and restarted and it's back to smooth. It didn't seem to be using a lot of CPU or memory according to task manager when it was acting sluggish...I'll keep an eye on it to see if it's repeatable.

I notice memory use does creep up as things are clicked on and it doesn't go back down when they are closed. When first launched, my dock uses about 10.5 Meg, but when I opne and close the Moby control panel a couple times, open a couple programs and folders and close them, Moby's now up to 11.3 Meg used.

Great little app. Love it. But somehow after it worked fine for days, now it crashes on start up and takes away my taskbar. There used to be a way to get the taskbar back with a shortcut of some keys but I forgot how to do it. Anyone know and can tell me.

What do you mean when you say it crashes?

I think mobydock has a feature to hide the taskbar. Click the settings 'icon' on the dock, there should be an option to show/hide the taskbar.

Haha. that's the whole problem. It won't even restart after it crashes now. I have to reboot the whole pc, cause nomatter what I do, it won't restart mobydock. I can't even get in. So I was just trying to avoid that rebooting and see if there was a key short cut to get my taskbar back.

WHat is weird is that it work fine just two days ago and I don't remember installing any other software or doing anything anywhere to make this happen. I just would like mobydock to work again and get control of my taskbar back!

Have you modded your startup dir at all? Have you re-arranged anything in your start menu using explorer?

When/If is crashes use ctrl+alt+delete and end mobydock.exe in applications and/or processes... Hopefully the taskbar will be visible.

unfortunatly I tried that and know luck. Mobydock isn't listed.

I think I just need to restart my computer and see what the problem is. Sucks that one can get so used to that taskbar.

You might not need to restart. ctrl+alt+del again.

Now, 'end explorer'.

restart explorer by running a 'new task';

C:\explorer.exe

and then it should be fixed. Theoretically you have restarted your pc's explorer...
