see im wierd like that though. I will come and sit at my computer one day and decide I want all the coolest skins and things running even if they hog my resources. Then another day I will decide I want things as efficient as possible and downsize everything. I go through different modes, but maybe we all do this I dunno. Either way I am as eclectic as someone can be.
Itunes Or Wmp9
Winamp 5 is still in beta so Nullsoft is keeping it hush, hush. Someone posted a link of a beta site that has it to download. Or you could search for it on google.
i think somebody here called wmp9 bloated:
on my computer: windows media player uses 7 to 10 mb of ram
itunes uses 12-16 mb of ram
so wmp9 can do more stuff but that doesn't make it bloated at all
idicula, what version of iTunes and Windows are you running? I'm just checking something.

I think you're referring to my post.
I didn't mean bloated in terms of code, I meant "bloated" in that it tries to do too much, and so the interface isn't as streamlined as if it were intented to carry out one task and one task only.
I know people could be really pedantic now and say "it only does one task - play media", but I'm classing playing video and playing audio as two seperate tasks... ![]()
Yea I don't think media player is exactly bloated but my system is kinda beefy so it handles it pretty well. There are some things like the media guide thing that seems like it would make it feel a little lighter. Also the full mode is chunky that maybe creating that bloated feeling.
Do you want bloated. What about in WMP7 and I think 8 when you clicked to have WMP to go into skin mode, it would put that nice 150x150 box in the corner. In this perspective, WMP9 is alot better.
yea... speaking of that, my wmp9 started doing that recently. it's the anchor window. For some reason when my roomate uses wmp9 it changes the settings system wide and it is annoying. I need to find out about how to stop that. media player is the only program that is doing that.

You could turn if off, though.
yea true. I know I had mine turned off at one point. oh by the way. all glories to globox for my new avatar! :rule:
yea I saw that afterwords. :banging: what he said was hardly grounds for the piracy comment either though. just my opinion.
yeah i know :shy: but that`s what u get after reading too much of contra`s comments
i`ll edit my (harsh) comment
I think the most important thing iTunes has that WMP9 doesn't have is the pretty glowing burn button like in Kurt's avatar. Just can't beat that sh*t.

yes the glowing, ominpotent burn button. it's beautiful and devasting at the same time. I need one for my desk at work. Simply press it and it burns any neighboring co-worker into a crisp.
I think puting it in a little box and carring it around with you where ever you go would be nice. Just when you see an ugly desktop, pull out the box (
) and think happy thoughts (
). ![]()

wouldn`t that be nice, and if someone`s annoying u at the bus, just press the button and puf! the problem`s gone! ![]()

ADVERTISMENT:
NEW FROM APPLE!!!
the best burning app for windows ever!!! (now even burns pple!
)
just press the button and
featuring all new one-click technology from amazon.com and Fire from  Hell Industries

Apple, we make things easier :flame:

god i hope the r i a a didn't see my post...i'm ready for them though :robbery:
edit: there is a video player to go alog with iTunes called quicktime lol
Quicktime ... um, I'd choose WMP over Quicktime. Quicktime was adopted poorly to Windows. Too many bugs and glitches.
Bugs? Glitches? Wiz, tell me about them. Sometimes I watch movies in Quicktime (usually teasers) and it works very good.
I only have .avi I really never get .mov so I just use divx. Haven't really had any glitches or bugs yet. I heard real player was pretty good but it installs to much crap with it.
itunes is vastly superior to wmp for listening to audio, managing your audio files, and burning and importing.
DO this test (I have) set up both wmp9 and itunes for your dad or someone else grandmother etc that has no clue about either and is generally a pc ****. THey will pick itunes everytime. It's easier to use and makes more sense.
thanks I have spoken.
