Hello guys, I'm new here and I'm looking for some tutorials to develop some Icons!!!

This is a hard stuff cause everytime I design some and I try to reduce them in the Photoshop they loose resolution.... sucks

Start with a 128 px minimum resolution, 256 will be better. Of course you will lose quality as you make it smaller, that is just the way it goes. I create a different icon for the 16x16 icon, usually the focus of the icon. For example, my Nintendo File Icons, each of the larger icons had the file background with the cartridge on it, then for the 16^2 icon, I just used the cartridge, making it more noticable. There is no set way to create icons I find, just trial and error.

tks wiz, but I have to develop especific icons:

- Open topic

- Open all topics

- Open question

- Post question

- Sugest question

This is for a administrative forum software... maybe I'll have to use something like 24 x 24, and that's what makes my work harder!! :rant:

You can always make the borders and other aspects that you want to show through bolder. Also, what program are you using to create the icons? Axailis IconWorkshop is a very nice program. You can import a PNG with transparency and create all sizes of icons with two clicks.
