Problem With Installing Mobydock

this is my first time trying to use the mobydock.

i have just installed the program, but when i tried to run the mobydock.exe,

an error pops up and i can't do anything about it.

the error is some kind of exception or something (i have no idea that this is).

can somebody help me?

thanks,

im not 100% on this, but first off, did you download the lite version? if so try downloading the full version as it should include all the dll's you need.

Number two is, I think you need DX 9 to run, you should be able to get it through windows update

edit: Photo beat me.

#73097

thanks for your answers...

i think i got the full version...

there was only one link on the website...

and i ran directx9.0 too...

Could you post the error? Screen or message text, please.

if i click the MobydockDx icon to run it...

the microsoft error window pops up...

saying that...

"Mobydock.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..."

and if i open up the error message....

it gives me an error like this....

"Excpetion Information

by the way, runing the directx9.0 means installing it, right?

Yes it does. I'm not sure about this then, it doesnt sound like a typical error that most people get. Maybe a graphics card issue, is the only other thinkg that I can think of

#73125

you gotta restart your pc after installing dx9.

#73128

Could you go to desktop, right-click My Computer, Properties, Hardware tab, Device Manager. Expand Display Adapter item. There is your graphics card. First off, make s(h)ure there is no exclamation or question. Now go to the manufatures website (ati or nvidia, just add .com) and get the latest drivers. If anyone has a better idea, please post it.

#73133

my mistake...

you are right...

i forgot to get the driver for the graphic card...

but the problem is that i forgot what kind of graphic card i have...

(well, it's my brother's laptop...)

the manufacturer is unknown...

it just says...

"Video Controller (VGA Compatible)" and tells me the location (i mean the slop number of the graphic card)...

which driver should i get?

It would help if you gave us all the background info you know on your system like when you purchased it, what kind of CPU, motherboard it has or anything else you think might be useful.

Once we figure out what graphics card you have then we can point you to an appropriate driver. I have plenty of suspects right now but I dare not make a guess god forbid it mess up your system.

Bottom line: More info plz.

#73138

look how stupid i am...

why did i think of that...

i found out the name of graphic card...

thanks you guys...

i will tell you after i install the driver...

jkl

#73144

i got the correct driver...

and the graphics card is okay now...

but still same problem... T.T

help me...

what is your graphics card? some are incompatible, so your answer would be you can't use moby. others might be ok and need only a minor adjustment through your display properities.

post your system info. and people will be better able to help you jakeloveim.

Com. : Compaq presario 910US

Processor: 1.33 GHz AMD Athlon XP

Graphics Card: ATI Radeon IGP

Graphics RAM: 16 MB
