Woah there's an insane amount of animated emoticons there... I run Trillian with a very condensed 9 emoticons heh, I can't imagine clicking on the emoticon button and have all these animations spring out to be selected hehe. Cool little things tho

yeah there are quite a lot but you can always go into the xml file and turn the ones you don't want off. I would make the pack but I only know how to edit some parts of the xml not create it. :(

I'm about the same as you, not really sure on how to create these things only edit (through experimentation) them. :shy:

i`ll give it a shot! ;)

but it`ll take some time so check from time to time to see the progress.

first i`ll make the "light" pack and then later the full one.

Cheers

http://milkfilez.zor.org/

warning... contains some :naughty: ahem emoticons.

697 wow thats insane I'll see If I can't reduce it to a more reasonable number and then maybe email you them in a .zip or something

Actually I just put them on my website in a .ace file I tried to get rid of all the doubles and some others there are still a ton though so whichever ones you think would be best Unbeliever that would be awesome.

I'd give this a shot, but it's too much work for my lazy butt.

The XML file isn't hard at all, if someone has some time on their hands.

the text= is what you would type in to get it

button = yes (not sure, this is just me opening a .xml file in notepad). Not 100% sure, but YES seems to be the norm.

source name = "emots" , is the name(.bmp) file to find the emoticon in. It will be in the same directory as the .xml file it's reading from

Then your left, right, top, bottom. Are exactly as they sound. They tell trillian where to go within that .bmp to find the emoticon. left 0 (it's the first one). Right 19, how far right to go. Top 0 (all the way up). And bottom 19 (it's 19 pixels tall).

Not really too complicated, an image editing program, and a lot of time could make whatever you want. I'd say the hardest part would be making all the text=":(:):)))" type stuff.

Hope that helps you guys that aren't quite sure

*EDIT ps,

Hope that explained the basics, just look in your directory and open a *XML file in notepad. There are a few other things you can add in there. For example there are strings to determine the AIM icons from MSN icons. Basically just a little line to add between your endless lines of texts to tell trillian what is for what.

Also a little section to put the info of who made it, Author, Webpage, that sort of thing. Like I said, i've never attempted at making one. But the .xml is amazingly easy. It's nothing like a Winamp 3/5 xml skin.

*EDIT 2 p-ps,

I use ifranview, as my defacto image viewer. But getting the top, bottom, left, right info is easier then it sounds. In irfanview you'd just hold you mouse wherever you think it should start, and it shows you the pixel info in the statusbar. I haven't used PSP or PS in quite a while, but if memory serves me correctly, it is just as easy in both of those. It's just a matter of moving your mouse around for a few hours, and recording the info into a text file. *shrug*

(I give all this info on how to do it, like I'm a pro. Too bad I have ZERO motivation. :)

thanks for the little tutorial deleted. I also have one question for anybody that knows the answer is there anyway to have these show up when I IM them from trillian to an AIM user?

Again, I'm talking about stuff I've never tested.

But; as far as I know, they have to have the same emtoicon pack. So even if you have the coolest set ever created, if they have the default set, they get some dookie default icon.

thanks for the tutorial deleted but as u mentioned the biggest prob is that the other side in the conversation can`t see them. that`s why i`m (trying to use, keeps crashing) a prog that makes a small install of the emoticons so u can mail them to ther pple. Thay just add on, so u keep the old ones + u get the new ones. The biggest problem is that the program keeps chashing on me and i can`t use it to make the emoticon set and using the xml is a bit tireing. I`m looking for another prog for making the emoticon set the installer. So it`ll take some time before i post the "light" version.

PS dinojr, the link u gave is dead :(

PPS i`ll upload what i`ve done so far probably tomorrow, but i can`t promise, i hv couple exmas in the next month so i`m busy studying :6 :(

ok, this is how it is.

i`ve created the emoticons pack, but i`m having probs with xml file. i can`t make it work! when i add my emoticons to folder /Trillian/stixe/plugins/TP16Emoticons-16x16 and start trillian i get: missing line in row 17, and trillian crashes! can someone make a xml file and post it for me just to add the emoticons setting and emoticons themselves? i neither know programming nor xml so without someone`s help i`m stuck! :(
