Upgrade To Winxp

Ok, i have been thinking about upgrading to Windows XP lately, because of several reasons. I have Windows 2K right now, and i think it is kind of hard to mod. Have anyone here any experiences with doing this?

I have never tried to upgrade, because people told me i would get trouble with drivers osv, but now i am so sick of formating, that this sounds like something i want to try.

Is it bad/good? I dont care that my machine wont be any faster or thing like that.

I'd definitly upgrade.

Windows2000 is very quickly approaching end-of-line for support, and you really do need security fixes. In fact, pre-SP2 Win2000 doesnt have support.

So yeah, I'd recommend getting XP.

Do you need it right this second? No. I wouldnt rush out and get it today, but within the year, it might be a good idea.

Hehe, i already have it ;)

Its just that i tried it once, and i couldnt stand using it. But now it looks like it will be bether for me to upgrade that using win2k.

What are your sys specs. On my 500MHz, 128MB, NTFS formatted system, WinXP is going half that speed as my computer went with 2000Pro. If your system is better than mine, you have nothing to loose.

And for sp1, I would say go for it. I am assumiung that you have a broadband connection. Many of the mods out there I'm finding are for sp1 and not for non-sp1.

I'd say so

Were all forgetting that you cannot upgrade Windows 2000 to Windows XP. You have to full install

well since he considered already to this extent i would guess he has backups and doesnt mind the fresh install...

Do you?

it's not a big deal to backup, either to another partition, drive, or cd. and the installation itself isn't too bad. it's all the customizations and mods that take time. :D

enjoy xp, man!
