OK, I was trawling through the apple support forums yesterday and came across a little gem.
Apparently in the new iBook, you can exceed the stated 640MB maximum RAM. If you can afford it, you can stick a 1024MB stick in there in place of the 512. It has to be the same physical size/type/latency but the iBook can address that much memory. It probably voids the warrenty but it's worth knowing huh?
Disclaimer: If anyone tries this and it destroys your laptop then don't blame me!
